You analyze too much, which means only one thing; You're spending too much time at your computer, hanging out on TTW and not enough time on court.

So your playing level has dropped a lot. Stop looking at old videos. Play more.

I actually think my game has become more technically sound off the forehand and the serve than last year. It's weird. My serve is much better now (more pace, better form), and my forehand is a bigger weapon (more pace, more aggressive mindset). Backhand, returns, and volleys regressed noticeably from a year ago. So my match tough self from last year-2 years ago would win, but I think my overall form has improved a lot on the forehand and serve.

The main thing is I don't have as much stamina and can't cover the court as well as before, and being a grinder, it's forced me out of my comfort zone as I have to try to end the point earlier. This has led to more inconsistency in my game.

Yeah sorry, I should play more but I've been really busy with summer school :(

I'm just warning you to not become the younger version of LeeD. Most high level players are playing and not on ttw analysing everthing.
I'm only on here to debate with people to have fun. I don't think there is anything of value in terms of technique that can be gleaned from ttw goats.

I get what you mean. Anyway, I would rather be known as a great entrepreneur/programmer than as a great tennis player haha. Another reason I'm asking is that one of the kids that I coach had the same problem I did. He was even smaller than me when I was 14 and he had less power off the forehand, and he hits a ton of reverse forehands. I am going to watch him play later and possibly record his match and was wondering if others can help me identify some technical issues with his game.

Unless you're Rafa, I usually associate hitting a lot of reverse forehands as lacking confidence off that wing because that implies that the person usually catches the ball late a lot.

Most here don't post enough of their video. OP posts too much of his.

There's always two extremes on a spectrum :) and posting too many videos isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not making outrageous claims that I could beat WTA pros or anything LOL.

I guess you can say that my dad and I film tennis semi-professionally since our Youtube Channel is an official Youtube Partner and we earn money every time someone watches a video on the channel.

So basically you are spamming the forum. Nice...

It's a double edged sword. I can potentially get feedback on how to improve my game and at the same time make money. Even if I don't post them here, I have 3.5k subscribers so that's already quite a hefty paycheck at the end of the month.

Can I ask roughly how much?

Technically you're violating forum rules by advertising your product. In doing so, you're placing yourself at risk for a permaban, which will force you to analyze less and play more. This means you will become a better player and will have a better chance at beating me if you come to New York. So I won't report you. :)

I have a question, since this is kind of a gray area. My primary intent is to improve my game by posting videos of myself playing, usually, and the monetization reward is secondary. Is that still against the rules?

I think you should share your profits with TTW users who watch your videos because of your posts here. I think you owe me 7 cents.

I'm watching my videos from 2012, and I noticed in this period, I hit a lot more topspin and the Nadal reverse finish off the forehand. From my observation, while it was generally safer, I felt like I had to be swinging with full force to be effective and against better players it wasn't as effective as my current forehand. Does anyone else agree?

Agreed. To me, the change could be attributed to your seasoning as a player. In the first video, you and your opponents seemed to exhibit the young man's game of hitting everything hard whether you were in position or not. The other videos you were more willing to work the points. Seasoning.

Again, to me, seasoning would also entail stepping back off the baseline line more. IMO, you and every guy you played ended up short-hopping (hitting off balance) way too many shots that you all either missed or just kept the ball in play. Ironically, on balls hit wide, you take time away from yourself. That, and it really is no problem moving forward inside the court to hit. Certainly, not like it is moving back, where you can't drive the ball as effectively.

I know you didn't ask, but I think you could pound those guys even more because while you're driving the ball, they are hitting more and more off balance trying to take your time away. And, they can't do it.

Yeah you've mentioned this before, and I've backed up a bit to give myself more time if my opponent hits deep. It's helped a lot and I want to thank you for this :)
