I meant for hard court. Clay is a different story. But yeah, clearly most Rafa fans are a bit worried right now (regardless of surface). Only natural. But whatever the situation, one has to find the positive in order to go on.

In the last 52 weeks Nadal is only batting at 55.6% against players ranked in the top 10. Federer by contrast is 78.9%.

Nadal is yet to beat a top ten player in 2015 and, most surprising of all, in best of 3 set matches he has only won 1 of 4 matches to go to the 3rd set (33%). The people he's lost to in the final set have been ranked 127, 28, 6, 34. His career numbers prior to 2015 were a 70.2% win rate in matches that went the distance.

He had better have a great clay court swing because, even compared to other years where he started slowly, he's having a bit of a clanger so far.

To cheer up the Nadal fans, his loss to Verdasco reminded me of Fed's loss to Hewitt at Brisbane last year. Just a bad day at the office. He can bounce back.

But if Nadal drop his FO crown this year, this could really shatters him.
