I was playing Michael the other day, and you were saying how you get tired just selecting a venue now. Yes, that is how it is. I put the game away for a while because I was bored.
The only reason I got grand slam tennis was because of Wimbledon, and it was second hand on amazon. I like if I can some how serve a couple of aces in a game, but on this game, you could serve games of aces. I played for about a week, and never went back to it.
Nearly four years later and still no announcement. Not even for virtua tennis, at least that would be a new game.

Oh yesterday was just a one-off! The PS3 is in the living room now which my mother is in the process of repainting. Hadn't used it for weeks until yesterday and all previous times it has been my sister playing Epic Mickey. I should get my thumb out of my mouth and put it back in my room...

I REALLY want to play Mario Tennis with my childhood friend. I've only won 10-11 times out of the 70-80 times we played, but it is such a fantastic game. I even love when I lose.

All you really need is an internet connection. Get your console signed up, then you're good to go.

You will find some of the cheesiest cheese around if you play on world tour. That used to be fun in earlier top spin back when you couldn't create a player with 100 power/ 90 serve, etc. On world tour, 1/2 games is like that. Serves that can't be returned, or a weak return to set up their finish. I remember the first time I came up against one of them. I quit and gave him a frustrated F you or something similar, then he says it is not cheating. He was telling the truth, but I had no idea, because how could you possibly let people create players like this that will ruin the game for others? Crazy, like the top spin superguide says, no balance to online any more. I ended up making one of these players myself. I joined them for a while.
2kopen is fair enough, I guess.
If you know who you're play against then it can be the most fun. I play MichaelNadal a lot, FedTheMan and Rock Strongo. They are the players I've played from here. Always fair matches, unless I'm on God Mode.

When I created my pro, I didn't realise that, once you're lvl 20, you cant upgrade your player further. So my player is very unbalanced. Like, 8/10 serve, 1HBH, decent forehand, good volleys.. not the sort of player that has a massive weapon at all. Maybe I should do it again, who knows.
Also, I saw people post the tennis elbow vids. It isn't anywhere near as smooth as Top Spin(looks a tad suspect), but it NAILS the idiosyncrasies of the players (serve routine, stroke machanics etc). Do you play that?

SORRY, i know you guys love TS4 but the last/current generation of tennis games seemed to sour the market :-?
TS4 wasn't that good to me, but it was the best of the crop.
TS4 never reached TS3's sales levels...

Anyone know how to get the timing on power shots? I've mastered control shots but when i play online, the opponent always hits close to or on the baseline. Is that because of well timed power shots? Hitting drop shots is pretty tough too. Would appreciate some tips on how to get the timing right on them too.

Bought a PS3 to play this. Great lesson in incompetent design. Not going to be playing it in the future.

Where did you hear this from? Maybe it's the most talked about because it's a console title, but anyone with appropriate experience of playing tennis games will know that Dream Match Tennis (from many years ago up to later 2016 because it's been ruined by the latest patch) is a much deeper game and the same goes for Tennis Elbow. Try Tennis Elbow. I've not played it much yet but read a lot about it over the years including from people who had the experience to compare it to all other major tennis titles. Top Spin games were always just popular "arcade" tennis games with much lower skill ceilings. A notch above the depth of Virtua Tennis, no question, but still not cutting it.

Funny moment on my final days of Top Spin 4. Beat a guy and then he started sending me dirty messages. He called me a cheater, so I played along and asked why. If he said lag then fair enough, but in this game, it was usually both players get lag and I wasn't having any. Plus, I just don't cheat. I'm the fairest of them all. Then he responds with a classic. He said I was using power shots and going left to right each time. So hilarious because my game style at that time was control shots. Makes me laugh still.

Quite sad that it had to end that way. Our historic rivalry deserved a more thrilling climax. The last match was kind of like Spartacus vs Solonius.
Not as entertaining though.

Did you participate in ITST?
If not, you really don't know what kind of competitory environment was available for the game and how good you had to be to compete with the upper echelon.
I thought I was good, but once I found itst tour I found out how barely above average I was. Took months of practice and frustration to finally challenge the top guys. I finally started to win tournaments and slams then finally got to #1 on one of the tours. It was very difficult and so satisfying!

''Astroboy'' is the GOAT top spin 4 player I played against on world tour. Same coach, so all things were equal, except our talent. You take all different sorts of beatings, but this is really the only one I can remember. So amazing.
I did end up joining a tour that was organized on facebook and I won the wtf bronze category in 2015. The peak of my top spin career, no doubt. Several itst players on that tour.
