kaiser - how much weight did you add in the handle to make it a little more HL.....if i can make this racquet may be 8- 9HL this will be a dream stick for me......not being very strong I love the plow of the racquet but struggle hitting/killing low balls where heavy topspin needs a quick racquet...
Some differences are obvious from the specs but just to reconfirm that they are there:
At a higher flex Redondo is easier on the arm for sure and on an average being heavier has a greater plow and you realise both these aspects if you return a heavy serve or a hard hit shot.
with a tighter...
IMO a lot...but again these are very indivudual feelings .....I played with Head MG Extreme series , Head Radical OS and now PK Redondo@ flex 56-57 and also with Prince OZ tour and PK Ionics 5i with flex @ 60-61.....from a racquet feel standpoint you will feel the difference for sure ( in a...
thanks everbody for all your insightful comments.
I went ahead a got a new Redondo Type C 98 from TW.....I can safely say till date .....of all the racquets I have hit with ....which includes Head MG Extreme team and tour, Head MG Radical MP, Head LM Flexpoint Radical Tour, PK Ki5, Prince OZ...
How is the sweet spot on Redondo?
I demoed a PK Ionic 5 and it seemed the sweet spot was pretty small ....an off center shot even by a small amount that is ......does not even go over the net.
Why is this difference?
Do they use different measuring systems?
Can any one of you experts throw some light on this please?
I am looking for a frame that is heavy yet flexy as I have arm issues.
Redondo seems to fit the bill but the 4 points stiffness diff seems to be quite a bit...
one place to start would be what your current racket is not giving you...and what exactly you want to improve( you have mentioned couple but a little bit more detail will help....not suggestiing that it is the case for you but may times racket is the least of the issue).....also if you could...
Wholeheartedly agree on this...his style of play needs higher bounce and even better consistent bounce....as much as he has improved over the years grass for all the variability of bounce will be his least favorite surface.....but his serve will be more potent.
Comparing Nadal and Federer...
one thing I forgot to mention in my previous post is that you do not mention anything about tension or strings you use.
before changing sticks( which in my mind is a much bigger change) i would first string your current stick @ lower tension if you still have room....and see the results...
Not sure whether you need help still but I will post this any way....since I am the exact age and skill level as you are and 'Head Microgel extreme team' is my stick.
I am extremely happy with it.
Let me also mention I have significant level of Tennis elbow and arm problems(from years of...
This is not a problem per se ....but the wrist crunch gets accentuated if you hold the racket with the end cap within the palm ...more so if your racket is head heavy .....just an another source from where wrist issues may come.
You do not mention if the weight addition on your racquet and wrist issue were in that order....if it is weight addition could very well be the culprit. (total of 8 grams will alter the 'swingweight' quite a bit. and may have swung your racquet from being HL to HH the latter known to cause...
