All the PA models have the same color scheme. The PA is his endorsed model but with the OG APD underneath.

Look kid, I said they have the same color scheme. Doesn't matter where they put the colors on there, all PA, PAT, PAVS have the volt/black on them. The gold font is for verification of the model same goes for the orange for the PAT.

The gold line that you see in the picture is actually orange because it's the Pure Aero Play paintjob.

So Jeff Salzenstein is pretty convinced that RAFA did make the racket change and is no long using his OLD aeropro drive. We all know RAFA tried the Pure aero and didn't like it and went back to Aeropro. So what is he talking about ?

Salzenstein provides no proof of an actual racquet change. He is stating that Babolat either provided Rafa with a lighter more powerful racquet and/or some new strings to account for the increase in Rafa's RPM. Salzenstein is great in many ways but is not a racquet aficionado like many of us on this forum. He didn't even know the name of the "white" Babolat!

It's been noted here a few times that Thiem continues to use the old 18/20 model, with lead and Head grip shape mods; you know the one that played - at least in Tour form - a bit like a modern Prestige - before they stiffened it up and 'dumbed it down' to appeal more to the bottom half of the player pyramid, where the money is. ;)

Could you give me proof? I'm not questioning...
...well, I am, but not in a hostile way. I want to know the differences. Pictures could be nice.

The head guard for one, his is a blacked out version of the old one. I think the string spacing changed so they arn't swappable.

There is also a difference in the way the base of the throat dips:

This photo is pretty good, I manipulated the color to make the bevels more obvious

Moonshot beat me to it with bad @SS high rez photos. Let me know if this sattisfy your curiosity.

Also I think I also saw somewhere that his RA is 62 not 66-67 like retail but that is pretty much with all pro stock Babolat racquets.

Article about Moya in ESPN was saying they decided to haveRafa go back to a heavier racquet. Whether that is purely lead or a different layup wasn't discussed

Salzy probably hasn't changed his racquet in years and likely isn't too concerned about specific models. Players are either on one end of the spectrum or the other with regards to their gear.

Thanks so much. I was wondering about this.

This definitely proved it for me. Completely assured. I think I would like to try an RA of 62 on a Pure Strike. Would feel so much more nicer...

Reviving this thread because imo, I believe he was testing the G360+ Extreme Tour next to the MXG1 with the Mag throat piece. Do anyone else thinks so?

I believe his Bab deal was ending, and he did test Head racquets, but didn't change, here's a video to prove it
This was around 2017, or so...

I know all of that, and this was around the end of 2016 season, during the the offseason I should say. The reason I asked, was because one of the racquets that were blacked out has the MXG weird throat design and the other one had a normal one. I wonder if it was the G360+ Extreme Tour.
