The great rematch is happening in San Pablo park!

Computer Science programs at good schools are absolutely brutal and they prepare you for the working world. They don't pay you a lot of money and give you a lot of perks like free meals, drinks, etc. for nothing - they expect you to work like a slave for a while.
But the financial perks of working for a good tech company or successful startup are tremendous. High salary, early retirement from cashing in on stock options/IPO, etc.

Of course not everyone (e.g. LeeD), sees money as the end-all, be-all to happiness.

I see money as the end all be happy mantra, but since I can't make any, I have to divert my goals to lesser heights.

I have a suspicion that tennis-wise Matt might end up at Leed's level eventually!
After my hit with Matt last Wednesday night, I suspect LeeD could beat him and win the warm ups. I absolutely dominated Matt during warm ups. I mean I CRUSHED him! :D

You crushed him, and then he got warmed up.
Same with my warmup with him. He was better, no doubt, but rusty. Once the 20 minute warmup neared it's end, he started grooving in....and I knew I was in for a bad day.

LeeD has no business playing Matt. There's at least 1 NTRP between them. What a miss-match.

Exactly, but this is TW, so everyone is fair game.
Whatever we do in life, we have to face adversity. Believe it or not, I have not double faulted more than twice a set since I played Matt. And while I do often walkabout, I can at least mix up my serves and not constantly turn around looking at Matt's Dad behind me swishing his suit and flicking the camera on and off.

I believe you could win a game on serve against Matt. In that notorious match, you had some service winners, getting you in position to win a game. But then you choked it away with double faults.

Thanks for the kind words, I do appreciate them.
It's also why I posted a couple months later my set with Volynets, a 25 year old player who had a 10-4 record in singles for his USTA League 4.5 team two year's previous.
I also posted my two set results against a newbie USTA 5.0 who used to live around Emeryville.

Post 308..."he was better, no doubt, but rusty..."
I guess you interpreted that as "even" ...?
Matt is really off his game now. You will have no problem hanging with and very likely beating him now. I don't think he has played against a lefty since he hit with you.

Nobody drops from higher 4.5 to low 4.0 in one year, even if he hasn't touched a racket and gained 20 lbs.

Work does that to everyone.
When I played Volynets, he was out of shape and hadn't played in a couple of weeks, and for the past year, maybe once a month at most.
Wait till they hit 62, and see how they play.

I'm almost there..... [emoji106][emoji471][emoji106]

Max was 245.

Lots of stress and one way to relieve it was food. Down to 177 right now (after 170 a while ago) with a target of 165-170.

There are other perks like stock options too.

You look very fit in those Wilson RF Autograph review videos! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]. BHBH

Max hit 245 pounds? That is awful. Good that he has come down since.

Reminds me of a guy at the club who was slim and the fastest runner around. He used to chase balls down like crazy. Suddenly he seems to have become three times his original size.
