poly poly, brand/gauge/shape/tension considerations?

Geezer here but having fun with polys. Have reels of 18, 17 and 16 gauge round poly. Have sets of Tour Bite, Hyper G, Genesis Black Magic, MSV Focus Hex from 16L to 18g. Any threads remembered or suggestions about using various poly hybrids that produce dramatic results when using brands/tensions/shapes/gauges?

I like a round deadish poly with good tension maintenance in the crosses (ex: Max Power, Prince Tour XC). And then put a more lively shaped poly in the mains.

I've tried somewhat the opposite- stiff shaped mains with softer round crosses; all poly. Also works good.

The consensus seems to be shaped poly in the mains and rounded in the crosses. Thinner crosses supposedly help even more with spin.

Someone specifically recommended TB mains with Black Magic crosses. You should try that for sure!

Which racquet?

In my Biomimetic 200 (frame adds no feel), Tour Bite Soft 1.20 /Mosquito Bite red had excellent control @51/50.

In my Aerogel 200 (frame filters away some of the strings' feel), Big Hitter Silver 1.21/Black Zone 1.20 was a nice feeling blend @52.

Tour Bite/Black Magic sounds like a great combo, like BHS/BZ above. But if you string Black Magic into a racquet that is already very dead or muted feeling, the result may be too dampened.

What I'm getting from my string choices:
- the crosses provide most of the sensations (feel) to your hand
- the mains determine more of the shock, power, and spin
- put the wider and/or shaped string in the mains
- use a round and slick string for the crosses
- if your frame has a low twist weight, use a cross tension 1 or 2 lbs. lower than the main
- use a lower tension for a lower elasticity string

Rackets are stock Prince Textreme Warrior 100: 16x18, SW 320, 11.14oz., RA 66, 6 HL.
I don't know how the material of that frame filters vibrations. Basically, if it adds to the feel of the strings, use a crisp cross string. If it filters away some of the feel, you could use a muted or dead cross string. If the frame doesn't really affect the feel of the racquet, go with a cross string that you like the feel of. I like to use a stiffer string or tighter soft string in the mains.

Right now I am liking Tour Bite/Black Magic over full bed Hyper G or full bed Tour Bite strung in 3 Textreme Warrior 100s. Strung up a POG 107 with TB/BM just to see how it works in a OS racket, although I upped the tension in the POG. Hot as blazes here as well. I wonder how closely "related" Tourna Premium Poly might be to Genesis Pro Advantage? Strung up a another POG 107 with a fresh hybrid of Ash Kev x ZX Pro in case I need a therapy racket after all this poly play.
