Seth Federer: The Ultimate College Tennis Recruit

Came across this video the other day. Hilarious spoof of the classic college tennis recruiting video. New tennis blog Cracked Racquets did a story on it and numerous college players, coaches and pros (Pat Cash, Coco Vandeweghe, Tim Smyczek, Reilly Opelka, etc.) have commented. I also think the USTA posted it on their social media channels as well. Nonetheless, I thought you would all enjoy watching it...rings pretty true to me.

Saw this last week and found it hilarious. The guy on the video played for the Gamecocks mainly dubs and some non conference singles. Think he graduated last year.

That was well done
I love the honesty. And the horrible wind noise...and it wasn't even windy.
Icky shuffles showing mad skillz, agility and werk ethix. And seth did not breathe a werd about doing them with a clearly faulty ladder. Such a pro, man, asset to any team.

Would this guy be too old to have a real original college recruitment video floating in the online ether somewhere?

I know he played college tennis...........

Why is it, that stupidity is applauded by the masses? Why is it, that absurdity seems to be applauded by the masses? And also, why is it,
that deviant behavior is applauded by the masses? Is this what adult behavior has lowered itself to? Seems perversion has become an opiate
for the masses.

Aloha

P.S. Must be a snowflake's childish viewpoint.

Even the serious college recruitment videos are hilarious to watch for anyone outside of America where life does not revolve around getting a "college sponsorship" or whatever it is that becomes of this

I agree with all of your post. But sometimes absurdity is done humorously, as satire. It makes fun of stupidity, deviant behavior, and the masses. Nothng wrong with a little satire, man!

I always ask myself why do these videos always contain 90% footage of the people hitting into the off-screen? Anyone can have a good looking technique, doesn't necessarily mean the ball go's into the court lol.

If I were a coach all I would want to see is match footage in the same vein as what is seen on TV... the rest is just wankery.

Spot on comment!!! You can not even see how the ball was fed. By hand or softly of a racquet from 15 feet away? Who knows? Could
be the applicant does not want to expose his weaknesses.

Fortunately, college coaches are not as dumb as the students who apply and those coaches do their due diligence. We can hope.

Hmmm was there was some innuendo in there? I felt like i was never quite on the same page as him.

Loved his satire of press conferences for regular folks.
He has a fun one on the stateside success of the British accent.
