  • Hi! I'm curious to know if you ever found a good replacement for your Head Radical MP LiquidMetal? I'm stuck trying to find a replacement. Best regards, Nikolai

I went with the Prince Phantom Pro 100 and loved it.
Hi TripleB—I saw that after a lot of testing you were settling on Kirschbaum Evolution. How was that in a full bed? I'm comparing to Tourna Big Hitter Silver 1.25, which I like but find to be quite firm. Tossing up now between Big Hitter Blue vs Kirschbaum Evolution. Would appreciate insight from your experience playing them.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry you've given up tennis. Hope you can get back into it sometime.

Thanks...had Total Knee Replacement surgery back on May 1st so I'm not sure when I may be on the tennis courts again. Had taken up pickleball (less movement and no sprints for my knees) but some heart concerns have forced me to stop that until they can figure out what's going on. I hope you find your go to string set up...I remember it was a long and tedious process for me.

Of course I was looking for perfection instead of just being content with a great string set up. Luckily pickleball paddles don't have strings LOL I appreciate the well wishes...have a fantastic week!!! And good luck with your search!
Hey TrippleB, saw a post awhile back regarding all your Dunlops. What one did you find the plushest? I have a relatively new Aerogel 300 4D and my elbow gets sore if I'm swatting flat ones. I added silicone in the handle, lead at 3&9 and still it fatigues my arm. I do love the play it gives just wondering if M-fill or the 300 before the 4D were sweeter and more arm friendly.
    Best

I felt like the 300G (black/grey/orange), even though lighter than most other 300 models, felt the plushest to me. The AG 300 4D wasn't far behind as far as plushness compared to the 300G, but my arm could definitely tell a difference between the two. I hope this helps!
Hi TribleB, I saw a comment on a post a few years back saying that you have used or still use head velocity MLT in the main’s with Wilson revolve in the crosses. I’m thinking about doing that combo as well but I wanted to know what gauges you used and also what tension. I don’t have much experience with poly/multi hybrids. Also what racket as well. Thanks!
I saw in your comment on the "What's your current paddle" thread that you own the Paddletek Sabre Pro. What is your assessment of the Sabre Pro? I am interested in the longer handle. How is the polycarbonate compared to graphite surface? In another forum someone said the textured surface flaked off. I haven't met anyone that has played with one. Any info would be very much appreciated.

I used the Sabre Pro quite a long time and the face of the Sabre Pro held up perfectly. I moved from the SP to the Gearbox GX6 Power 8.5 oz...I lost a good amount of power moving to the Gearbox (even though its a "power" paddle) but gained a lot of quickness and a tremendous amount more touch (best tough paddle I've ever used...incredible).

After a while though I started having arm problems using the GX6 Power and moved to the Engage Elite Pro Maverick. It's a nice balance between the Gearbox and the Sabre Pro (easier on the elbow than the Gearbox and power more in line with the Sabre Pro).

But every once in a while I go back to the Gearbox, especially when I'm playing against better players and find all four of us up at the net dinking a lot. I hope some of this helps. I've tried about every long handled paddle on the market and these are three of the best!
hey! I've been reading about some strings and saw some of your posts--have you ever played hyper g or tour bite in mains with pro line evolution in the crosses? I can't find anyone that's played with this exact combo, but I see you're a fan of both these strings so maybe you might have. Thanks!
any midplus racquets from before late 1990s that came with 18 mains thats NOT A dunlop 200, 6.1, prestige, radical? anything?

relatives of 200s, 6.1s, prestiges, are acceptable

curious more so about offerrings from obscure manufacturers such as browning/bard/wimbledon/wavex, or offerings from head, prince, and dunlop but any ones count. ie were there any wilson ultras that came in midplus with 18 mains? or maybe something from head that doesnt have the word prestige in the name.

    thanks a lot, really curious

Crazy as it is...in looking through my collected 120+ racquets, I don't see even one from the 90s from non top brands that has 18 mains. Sorry!!!

anything from major manufacturer but NOT a 6.1, prestie, radical, or dunlop 200? it also doesnt have to be from just the 90s, the 80s are game too but i am just curious about frames that are midplusses
Hello! I noticed on one of your threads that you had the chance to play test Vcore duel g 97 (310g) and Wilson ProStaff 95S. Would you be so kind to make a short comparison between the two in terms of response, feel and control? I own a PS95S and I like it, the downside is it discontinued.
Thanks alot and looking forward to your reply,
    Best of luck,

At net again I like the Yonex better because of the larger sweetspot and slightly better maneuverability.

But if I had to play Fed with one of the two I'd use the 95S.

Thank you Sir! This helps alot! Those are 2 key points in todays faster games! Cheers
Are you still looking for a Prince CTS Approach 90? I have the Approach 90 and the Approach Midplus (the model afterwards, which is basically the same racquet).

Thanks for keeping me in mind!!! I made the switch over to the Pure Strike when I couldn't find another Approach 90. But to be honest I haven't played tennis in over 3 months. Went to cycling and my knee is thankful. Again, I appreciate you keeping me in mind!!

No prob. Swimming is a good low impact workout, too.
Hey what racquet do you use now? I know you were looking at the PCG 100 and the Textreme Tour 95, what did you think between those two? I'm stuck on the fence.

To be honest I'm used a Prince CTS Approach 90 from 1988. Plays solid, amazing spin, good power, and better than average control. Of the two you mention I liked the PCG 100 a bit better...I had better control (felt I could feel the ball on the strings better) and more spin.

Not as soft or solid feeling as the Textreme but I had better results. I actually liked the Textreme 100 (the Orange one) better than both of these. Hope this helps some!
