1st Time Hybrid

I'm trying my first hybrid (Wilson Ultimate Duo, NXT Tour16 and BB ALU Power16). I'm planning on putting the BB in the mains and NXT in the crosses strung at 60 for the mains, and 58 for the crosses.

Just looking for suggestions and input on this. I'm playing with Wilson Prostaff 6.1's, coming from a variety of strings. Pro Hurricane Tour 16 in there now strung @ 62.

Thanks..

The NXT will shred to pieces. From a durability perspective, you couldn't get much worse, but good for Wilson because they appear to have developed a following who simply does not know any better. The NXT and ALU are both inferior strings IMO. Pair them together and you have an inferior hybrid. Not worth the cost.

Thanks for the reply. There's so much info and opinions out on Hybrids, what's good, what's not, try this, try that. I just decided to try this. I've tried three different strings in the last 2 months and this is just another. It's all experimentation until you find what works well for you and your needs.

Thanks for the tension advice, I appreciate that.

If you do go ahead, drop the tension on the BB. Have BB mains lower than the crosses by at least 2 lbs, maybe 4.

Yep make sure you always drop the tension on the poly and increase by a few lbs with the softer string (in this case NXT).
