Hey guys I am just curious on the 2012 Pure drive. Not the roddick. I have the 2011 model and it feels a bit too powerful and lack control. So I am just wondering has the 2012 model made improvements?

I am considering selling my 2011 PD for the 2012 PD, if its worth the difference of 50 dollars to get the 2012 model.

2012 has slightly less power and sweet spot is lower in the head. and this is only cause they took off alot of weight out of the head area and put it into throat.

Not 100 % about the sweet spot being lower ? Need to confirm this with other experts. I only mention it cause someone posted this somewhere.

I just a more solid feel. I feel the 2011 PD isn't that stable.

I see. Actually 2011 is more solid and more stable. Babolat took off alot of weight off the head area to lower the Swingweight of the racket. but tradeoff was bit of loss in stability. You can add little bit of lead to improve the stability though

Well... I thought about that too, but it would make my racket feel like my BLX Pro Staff 90. Which I don't want that heavy feeling to it.

Well no one said you have to put 42grams of lead on the PD 2012. lol.

2-8 grams at 12 or 3&9 and some at the buttcap or a leather grip should beef it up. Or just try the PDR 2012 which has good plow and stability but feels lighter than specs would suggest (unless you get a heavy, off-spec dud)
