Ole miss takes a well fought doubles point

Saw where they are playing indoors and with only 3 courts that means 4, 5, & 6 singles won't ever take the court. That'd stink to play at one of those spots for Binghamton and maybe playing in your first ever NCAA Tournament and you don't even get to step on the court for your singles match.

Mississippi State is going to one up Ole Miss on the indoor court situation. The MSU/Baylor match is moving to McCarthy Gymnasium which I believe has just 2 courts. They'll be playing all night.

Indiana not laying down versus Kentucky. Quigley did win 6-1 6-0 to make it 2-0 UK but IU did pick up 3 1st sets and they lead 3-1 in the 3rd at 4.

Hey TopDawg, the video at Athens looks amazing but I assume (and hope) that NCAA will stream and we won't have to watch those 30 second commercials every time we want to move between courts? I don't mind it once, but it gets annoying quick.

I think you guys talked about tthe broadcast....but can't remember which NCAA thread that was in....

Miss St and Baylor now tied at 1-1 as Chaudry beats Maytin 6-3 6-2 at #2. I guess that means #3 singles is coming on court next.

USC cruised as expected 4-0. Nguyen did not play singles. USC only dropped 10 points over the 6 singles courts.

Baylor now leads Mississippi State 2-1 as Zsiga beats Ilyushin 7-5 6-3. Zsiga won 7 of 10 games once they moved indoors. Baylor up a set and 4-3 at #3 so it could be 3-1 BU shortly.

Pepperdine wins 4-0. Waves join Kentucky in the Round of 16. Tulsa now leading Oklahoma 3-1 and they lead 2-0 in the 3rd set at #3 singles.

Satsuma Illini

Auburn takes #2 and #6 singles. Tied 2-2.

#1 Nevolo (UI) leads 7-6, 4-3.
#3 Abdelnour (UI) leads 7-6, 1-2.
#4 Lopasso (AU) leads 6-4, 6-6.

Too close.

Mississippi State and Baylor now tied at 3-3. The deciding match at #6 singles is in the 1st set tiebreak tied at 3.

Satsuma Illini

Semi-Pro
Auburn takes #4 and leads 3-2.

#1 Nevolo leads 7-6, 5-4.
#3 Abdelnour took first set 7-6, trials 2nd set 1-4.

Looks like #3 singles third set will decide it.

Nevolo wins #1. Tied 3-3. Cochrance leads #3 5-1 in 2nd set. Looks like third set between Cochrance and Abdelnour will decide it.

Bley takes the 1st set tiebreak over White and is now serving at 0-1 in the 2nd. Bley has won some big matches for Baylor - I've got to think Baylor will pull this out. We shall see..

Bley/White headed to a 2nd set tiebreak. If Bley takes it Baylor wins; if White takes it they play a 3rd set.

What happened in Clemson vs UGA women. I am getting conflicting reports. NCAA site says UGA won 4-3, but there's no way. I have also seen 4-2 Clemson

I would not overlook Santa Clara in that Texas match. Texas lost to USD and Santa Clara split with USD this year. It could be a tight one. Stanford should win the regional pretty easy though. I am hoping for a Stanford vs Santa Clara Final. Go NorCal

Your wish has been granted - congrats!

Georgia won 4-3 as its #3 singles player came back from a set and 5-2 down to win it 0-6 7-5 6-1 - UGA write up.

Interesting thing about the women's match. I didn't stay for the whole match today, but Lauren Herring at #2 doubles and #4 singles served EVERY serve underhand. It was so bizarre. And they won her serve handedly in doubles. I didn't stay, but assume she served that way in singles too, and it worked well enough to go three sets. I'm sure there's a reason for it, as I've seen her play before, but still. Has anyone ever seen something like that before?

my guess would be an abdominal strain

i served part of a high school season like that - only really affects you when you're serving or hitting overheads

She had been out for the past month or so with a shoulder injury, I believe. She actually has a very good serve, but probably trying not to stress the shoulder out.

Congrats to Kentucky who deservedly beat Indiana 4-0. It was exciting for a bit with IU winning 3 first sets but the best team won. Quigley also has improved since I last saw him over a year ago, genuine top 10 player.

It seems to be not all that uncommon in women's college tennis. Usually attributed to shoulders/tendonitis. I think it wold be a lot harder to get away with at a higher level men's college game.
