2016 ATP Sudden Death League Season: Review

Many thanks to all who participated in the ATP Sudden Death League Season this year, we hope you enjoyed the game. It wasn't the easiest of years to compete in - definitely a mixed bag with an array of early mass exoduses as well as some tournaments that yielded multiple champions and finalists. Here are a few end of year "awards" we will present now across a range of categories.

2016 AWARDS:

2016 Player of the Year: JJGUY (Year End No. 1, 2 Slam Titles)
2016 Tier 1 Champion: JJGUY (4,650 pts - Most points across all 4 Slams and Rio Olympics combined)

2016 US Open Series Champion: Krish872007 (1,465 pts - Most points accrued in the North American hard court swing)
2016 'Grass Master': stringertom (1,315 pts - Most points across all grass court tournaments)
2016 'King of Clay': JJGUY (3,250 pts - Most points in the European clay court swing)
2016 Autumn Swing Champion: Boozyuzi (3,070 pts - Most points accrued post-US Open)

2016 Comeback Players: Boozyuzi & Tennis sensation (up 12 and 13 ranking spots from 2015, finishing the year in style)
2016 Rising Star: winchestervatennis (started playing SDL in Sydney, ends year as No. 3)

Adjusted IW/Miami slightly on the sheet now. Does that look a bit better

Not sure what you mean by the random R1? Here's Cincy 2016 for instance - they split the draw into top & bottom halves even for R1:

Yeah but you could have ppl picking R1 bottom before R1 top or viva versa. Or they could have their R1 top and R1 bottom playing at the same time - 1st on different courts.

Ok, makes more sense - then we could keep random R1 and then split R2 if that works better

well that sometimes happens at the majors when the scheduling ends up wonky. I think on the WTA side I had 3 of picks all play the same day at one of the majors because of weather. But at least if we clearly do it by round it makes it easier to track the picks with the weather. We have the same problem on the WTA side that you bring up above as well. Sometimes a 2nd round match occurs before the first round is even done, usually when seeded players receive byes. Its confusing, but to me I'd rather muddle that then have to dig through old OOPs because of a rain delay canceling a day and screwing up the whole schedule when we pick by day
