TSK beats Blumberg 6-4, 7-6(5) to bring home another singles title for the Hoos!!!
You have to remember Blumberg is a freshman who started in January. He is from the high school class of 2017. Thai has 3 1/2 more years of college experience than him. Imagine what Blumberg would be in 3 1/2 years if he finished as ITA #2 this year. You missed the team match where Blumberg killed Thai less than a week ago. However, I wonder if Blumberg will play more than another year of college tennis.Your Blumberg not doing so good. Thai son has better future in the pros, I assure you. and Thai won't break top 100
You really ought to wear some thick mittens. Seriously, if you watched that match or any of their matches from the season and came to that conclusion..then again, you think Tom Fawcett is the second coming of Christ..so why am I even dignifying this with a response. I do agree that TSK won't get into the top 100, unless he makes some dramatic changes. But Blumberg is just out of high school, had three losses on the year..."3", playing at #2 for the National Runner Up. And obviously was physically down a couple of pegs as most freshman should be given the situation. Also, he had to play a couple grueling doubles matches on top of his singles..at that level, any time spent on court is cumulative.Your Blumberg not doing so good. Congrats to Kwiatkowski, Blumberg, and the amazing ACC. Just to recap for you West Coast homers, UVA has won four out of the last five titles. UVA, Wake Forest and UNC are going to finish the season ranked 1, 2, and 3. The mens final featured two guys from the ACC, one of which was a freshman. The results speak loud and clear. Enough said.
LOL,, so what if he is freshmen. All these guys played top level Junior competition internationally as well as in USA. If you have talent,,, you Shine in your freshman year and dominate everyone. Blumberg doesn't look like he is fast enough to compete in the tour. he seems to be a poor man's slower and heavier version of david GoffinYou have to remember Blumberg is a freshman who started in January. Who his Blumberg dude ? is he American or English ? sounds like he is English. then he won't get the Wildcard into US open. USTA doesn't give out WC to foreign college players. If he is so good then why hasn't he done anything in the challengers ?

LOL,,NO ESPNU or any other TV coverage for singles final..................Tennis is truly dead in USA, I am telling you.
He claimed TSK won't break the top 100, but if Fawcett got whooped in the semi's than what does that say about the state of Stanford tennis? lolFeddy getting lunch and dinner again from some pretty major bites.
There is this little tournament going on in Paris at the moment, ya know
True...and there was barely anyone in the stands except when UGA was playing...Although more people showed up overall then last year in Tulsa. College tennis just isn't right for TV....its too bad because some of the matches are high quality
Winston-Salem is giddy in anticipation of the Fawcett fans taking over next year watching their superstar end an undefeated year with a team, individual, and doubles win. Without dropping a set.
TRue, tennis is a dying sport in USA. nobody cares about college tennis anymore. Need more superstars in college tennis. Tom Fawcett could make this happen by making Stanford the new champs next year
ASU a factor ? who do they have ? Stanford has 2 freshmen coming in that are going to be future pro prospects and likely be top 50 ATP professionals in the future.Oy Vey....More Fawcett....Is Stanford going to be any good next year? UCLA and USC have dominated the PAC....even Cal and Oregon have picked it up.....And ASU has now recruited all these International ex-pros so they will probably kill everyone
Don't think tennis is dying in the US....just think that Jr participation is waning because parents are putting them in sports they can get scholarships for....and then for adults, tennis caters to the recreation players and the fan of watching tennis has lost interest because the TV coverage is lacking. Many recreation player also are unsure or uneducated on watching tennis unless its the biggest names playing, and the younger generation doesn't have the attention span....It also doesn't help that there are no Americans performing well in the sport right now...some up an comers, but no one constantly at the top
Its just right sizing....it will come back around
