A wall

I don't know of any hitting walls in my area so I'm thinking of using my garage wall to hit lightly. With low compression balls it should be fine. But with normal balls how can I protect the wall while making sure the ball still bounces off the wall well?

Thanks!

Is there a school or something nearby? I usually find that any building with a brick wall and pavement works fine.

Don't try schools. These days, the police will arrive. They will think that you might be carrying a gun inside the racket cover and kill you first as a precaution. Then they will claim they were just doing their duty.

They make some foam balls which bounce pretty decently - higher then the low compression balls - and they fly slower so you can really swing crazy.. There are actually lot of different kinds. I used one a long time ago that was pretty good - not sure which one would be best though..
