Ad Court Serving

Hi everybody. I'm more inconsistent when serving to the ad court. Any tips? Since I don't have any videos to post, any general tips or suggestions would be fine and greatly appreciated.

Serving to the deuce court feels more natural to me. I just want to feel more comfortable with the ad. Thinking I might need to change my position on the baseline (closer/farther away from the center hash) or maybe adjust my body angle. I dunno. That's why I'm asking for help. :)

Thank you very much.

quessing your a righty?? try aiming for the middle of the ad box and go from there. I usually hit more kick serves on the ad side btw...think that it's just more of a natural throwing motion for a right hander on the duece side.

Practice more.
You can't do it unless you practice it.
Your target is NOT the service court, but to the weaker side of the returner. Knowing that, and knowing the high side is the alley, adjust your CHOICE of serves accordingly.

Ah strategy. Good advice indeed. Thanks.
And yeah, I'm a righty.

I see a lot of players face the wrong direction when serving to the ad court (because most beginning players start serving from the deuce side). It should feel the same from both sides with different starting positions. So if you are comfortable from the deuce side, turn yourself 90 degrees to the right and see if you are still having troubles.

Always make sure your left shoulder (reverse if you are a lefty) is pointing to the service box for starters.

What always helped me get the serve in on the ad side is add more spin (kick spin to be specific - if you don't have a kick serve, forget this last sentence).

Lining up is key, and if your foot positioning is off too, your shoulder will point away from the service box and cause faulting.

^ Many righties who attempt that serve do not get enough net clearance. You are going over a higher part of the net on the ad side than the wide serve to the deuce side. Need a bit more topspin or more arc to serve to the outside T on the ad side.

If you don't have that serve yet, serve up the middle T or serve right at your opponent's body. Net clearance can still be an issue for the latter option.
