Adding 6g Lead in Throat - what effect? - PST GT

Hi all,

Just wondered what effect that adding 6g of lead to the throat area (in this case I am demoing a Pire Storm GT) would have.

I don't want to necessarily throw the balance off, but wanted to add some power for serving and plow through for forehands. I have tried 3 & 9, but didn't like the head heaviness effect, so far 6g in throat feels right to me anyway.

Thanks in advance

I have a Babolat leather grip (6-8 gram extra) and 3 grams at 9-10 and 2-3 O'Clock.

Works pretty well for me.

If it feels right to you, then don't change it. Use it!

That being said, lead tape in the throat will shift balance point the least, as for most rackets used by members of this board, the balance point of the rackets is somewhere inside the throat. Thus, adding weight there won't change balance that much, while adding weight to the racket. That added weight should translate into a little more oomph.
