Spaniard holds entertaining live session on Monday

Rafael Nadal has overcome plenty of opponents in his legendary ATP Tour career, but he faced perhaps his toughest one on Monday: technology.

The Spaniard held a star-filled Instagram Live that included Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Marc Lopez. Nadal laughed as he visibly struggled with the platform and how to bring his fellow players into the conversation, admitting that it was his first time going live.

“As you can see, I’m a disaster in everything. But I’m trying hard,” Nadal said, smiling. Murray took a playful dig at Nadal in the comments section and wrote, “This is brilliant… He can win 52 French Opens, but not work Instagram.”

Quite enjoyed the chat. Especially with Andy when Andy mentions playing the tennis game as Nadal himself versus Federer.
Nadal jokingly says something along the lines of 'Did you hit to the backhand all the time?' .

Its great to see these guys interact, its way more light hearted between them, than the fanbases.

Federer isn't very good at English and laughs in between his words too much, that is why Rafa and Murray were the better duo.

I'm actually comfortable discussing any topic here, everyone is so nice it's like being among family.

I liked this part the best, when Rafa and Murray were talking about playing online-
Rafa has the best comedic skills, because he has some bite to his words.

Dude, are you okay? Fedr speaks English like if it was his native tongue (pretty much is) Also his laughing in between words is just having fun. I’m sure you experienced it before, if not try?

I loved it. So great seeing Rafa relaxed and I think his English is good now. It’s very difficult to learn and speak a second language and he’s done extremely well over the years.

Great to see such a pleasant rapport between all players. Would love to see a podcast one day with Rafa and Roger

Rafa's English is really good now. He seems very comfortable expressing himself and it flows way easier in conversation then you would imagine.

I think peope have been mislead into thinking his English wasn't great because he has a tendency to give generic answers and phrases when talking to press and after matches (,"Unbelievable match no, Want to thank crowd and sponsors and everybody, no"). So people wrongly assume his vocabulary in English is limited. But it's clear that when he's having a real conversation in English with friends or close colleagues, his English becomes a lot less generic and he isn't sticking to all the catchphrases he uses in the press.

Clever guy, this Nadal. I think Nadal may actually play down how good his command of English is in the press, so he doesn't have to give too many revealing answers to the English speaking media.

His English has been great for years IMO. No idea where this stuff that his English isn't good, comes from.

It's overdone.
The last time I would have said his English wasn't good would probably have been early 2007 - since then no issues.
People need to realise that thick accent does not = poor English.
And besides, there are some "native" speaker who have a truly awful command of the language (in the UK itself, no less)

''I was playing Roger. ''

''And you hit to his backhand all the time. '' :D :giggle:

Andy picked to use Rafa on clay. :D That would be a disaster for me. Talking about the Top Spin 4 Nadal. Can't use him at all.

Rafa simply does not wish to engage in polemics.

There is no beef between murray fans and any of the big 3 fans simply due to the fact that it’s a clear consensus that Murray is far inferior to the other three. That plays a big role tbh

The big 3 all have more knowledge and command of the English language, despite none being from Anglo-nations, than most Americans and British ppl do

This is generally true of all people who learn a foreign language.

I think player-wise, Federer and Murray weren't so friendly in the earlier days. It may even still be reasonably frosty, like Feds with Djokovic.
I think Federer and Nadal are good, Nadal and Djokovic will be good once their playing days are over, but Fed and Djokovic probably will only ever be amicable .
