All the Nike Players...

Look like they forgot their tennis stuff and went to the pro shop and bought whatever random stuff they had in the right size.

Outside of maybe 10 players that is literally what happens. Nike usually just gives them a charge card with 25-50k USD and they can just buy whatever they need/want that is all they get and dont get paid on top of that.

That's totally untrue.

The rest of their outfit is tragic.

true...those striped shorts...pretty bad.

I’m still trying to determine if I can pull off the Agassi US Open 90 that’s coming in Aug. I’m not paying any attention to the rest of Nike’s stuff at the moment.

Edit...I probably can’t but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna buy it. Lol

Lately, I imagine the Nike head designers are having bets with each other on who's sh|ttiest designs will still get bought by devoted nike followers. They have to be trolling fans.

That crew that Zverevis wearing looks great, but it doesn’t wick as much as soak. After 6 games in Texas, it feels like you’re wearing wet plastic wrap instead of shirt.
That's surprising, I own that kit and I've never felt like it was too absorbent. And I live in a pretty warm area and sweat more than Nadal with mono during matches.
Overall I've always gotten the best quality and designed gear from Adidas. Nike used to be pretty good but now they're just overpriced and terrible quality, as well as being seemingly designed by blind chimpanzees.

How dare you insult those blind chimpanzees?!?!?! The nerve of some people!!!

It’s sad cause it doesn’t go with the “French Vibe” of RG. The colorways for this year suits more for the USO. I can honestly say that the ladies look better aside of the stupid tank with the clip art on the front.

Everything is already set in stone of “who wears what” in the catalogs. There’s Nadal, Del Po, Dimitrov, and the Nike Team Players. Every single person gets what they are told/set to wear, unless other wise.

which part? I doubt nike pays more than 10 players to wear their merch.

there’s paying a player to wear your apparel, and then there’s providing your apparel and shoes to the player (at no cost) , paying their tournament entry fees, subsidizing or providing coaching/training, housing, travel...etc

@Rattler @J011yroger 11 The way I understand it(which could be wrong) is that

Yes paying player is like top top players, obv Nadal and high profile like Kyrgios and Kournikova back in the day. Cant imagine much more than 5 of these on each side mens and womens.(not counting other apparel companies)

Paying for tournament fees and travel is usually young guns where they place their bets like Shapo or FAA to move them into the top bucket in the future. But once they sour they cut them off fast. I dont see why they would pay for tournament fees and expenses for a guy like Gasquet or Goffin who has a very little chance of winning a major.

Nike is run by bean counters I dont see how the math works if they pay a ton of players. esp with the state of tennis the last 15 yrs where it was top guys or nothing in regards to marketing and endorsements

The shoes should be the pink color of the accents.

Sure. I mean, fashion is very subjective but if we consider the top and bottom which is a very classic palette (white/blue and solid/stripes), you need something high contrast and high intensity for the entire composition to finish it off. Matching shoes with top or bottom goes against that particular color theory. Repeating colors from top all the way to the bottom can look a bit boring too.

I like the color of his shoes because it makes for a visually striking picture and the contrast makes you notice different elements of what he is wearing in a good way too; breaks down his outfit and makes you focus on design elements, as opposed to wearing a uniform with a repeat pattern.

That is just me though. I'm sure other colors would look good too.

It clashes horribly.

The shoes are dynamically and as a colour palette completely removed from the rest of the outfit. That is not "breaking" it, it is just a random element added to the outfit.

The entire outfit is an ensemble and the shoes are a part of the ensemble here..the "random" element is standing out and it does break the rest of the outfit into segments however which way you look at it..You can dislike it but what he said is correct..

I think Tommy Paul and Fritz look good. Shorts go with the Stars and Stripes theme of Draft Kings (Next Gen are Stripes) and the whole ensemble clicks for me. I like it.

Too young for it now but I'd have rocked this in my younger days for sure.
