An Open Letter to Andy Roddick

But you or the OP can do better right? That's my point. Let's say they "failed", does that mean that you will succeed?

The problem is that you reference them as though they have merit in this discussion, when the latest results--from the Wimbledon final--prove that nothing from the "experts" has transformed Roddick into a Federer-beater, or more than a one-slam wonder. There's no logic in supporting a system (meaning the "expert" coaches) which has been proven (by Roddicks's grand slam finals record) to be a complete failure (beyond his 1 slam) up to the last slam played.

I grew up loving Connors' game and appreciating Gilbert's (to a degree), but as a coach, either they failed--or Roddick is so hobbled by his own psychological and physical shortcomings, that no star coach (including his current) can help him win more slams/beat Federer in a slam.

You're essentially advocating fans saying nothing due to your reverence for pros. I reject that belief, for if a high-paid coach cannot see and correct the obvious flaws in Roddick's game--but fans are acutely aware of the flaws, then the have the right to make their suggestions, which are worthy for this reason: they will not follow the failed pattern set into motion by Roddick's coaches.

All good points OP, but these points seem really generic. I'm not trying to say that they were ill-conceived points or anything but don't you think Roddick's coach already lectured him on these?
