Andy Roddick - Roger's Cup Champion?

Roddick might very well win it this year. Say what you want, but hear me out first. First and foremost, Federer isn't playing it. Second, Nadal will have played only one week since the French Open and is bound to be at least a little rusty and/or sore. Third, Roddick has decisive wins over Murray and Djokovic this year. And fourth, he'll have the crowds on his side and will be itching for some confidence before the Open and he'll have history on his side should he win.

It seems like players that win a Master's Series leading up to the US Open have done well.
Murray - 2008 Western and Southern Champion/US Open Finalist
Djokovic - 2007 Roger's Cup Champion/US Open Finalist
Roddick - 2006 Western Southern Champion/US Open Finalist
Federer - 2004 Roger's Cup Champion/First US Open title
Roddick - 2003 Roger's Cup AND Western and Southern Champ/US Open title
