Dear Classicohlics,

yesterday I picket up this well used Antelop Courtstart TC 828. Head-size looks to be about 90, maybe a bit less. Weight, with its original leather grip and strung is: 363g.
Anybody outthere who knows a bit more about this stick or the brand? Searching the web and TT dit not turn up with much other than maybe a similar stick: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=5443724&postcount=4 but with larger head and less weight.

Any thoughts? Who has one like it? Or other sticks under the same brand?

Antelop was a Taiwanese brand which briefly (around 1983-4) tried to break into the US market. Their racquets seemed very Pro Kennex-like (may have even been made by Kunnan Enterprises?). I had a 1984 Antelop catalogue back in the day; I remember they had some advanced composite blends (i.e., Boron) and various head sizes and shapes, but nothing totally creative... apart from some of their model names, which were refreshingly odd in Engrish... Super Mars, Courtstart, Kingleap, etc.

I like how this "Courtstart" is "extremely rugged and durable," and has "high repulsive force" !!! It's keeping me far away from it as I write this...

The text on the side of the racket is amusing. It reads as if it had been authored by the same person who wrote the text on the PK Copper Ace. "Exquisitely designed"? :) really? The PK Copper Acer reads " an imminently playable mid size racket", for reference. They probably meant eminently. These being said, the rackets look like first cousins.

haha, you are just jealous that you wont be able to play soon with such an exquisitely designed and extremely rugged and durable racket that sports, just to rub in in deep, a name like no other: Antelop Courtstart
Common man, admit that you are simply jealous! Or can you claim that you actually have played with a racket with minimum racket face distortion? ...not me either. I'll let you know how it hits, once I manage to take it for a high repulsive force hitting session!
