Hi, played with the ti radical mp for 5-6 years already, lookin for a new stick that plays similar to it, I need it 10.75-11 ounce wit 98 inch frame, i know i can do the TW racquet finder but i need some reviews or recommendations. I have an unorthodox style where i slap the ball and hit flat. any response is appreciated.thanks

Hi, thanks for the comments, I tried both i rad and liquidmetal before, liquidmetal was heavy and the i rad felt kinda stiff compared to the ti rad, I might try to demo the babolat pure storm team, pure control zylon 360,dunlop mfil 300, and wilson ncode npro, anyone demo or have these racquets and have opinions on how they rate against the ti radical? thanks!

Perhaps the Zylon might be similar to the Ti.
Ncode and pure storm are heavy compared to the Titanium series.
Stick with the Ti !! Good stuff in good hands.
Just my 2 cents.

I always thought the Dunlop 300g was similiar in that it was light and provided a flexy, smooth hit. I think the Dunlop has a more open string pattern, so you might pick up a bit of extra topspin along the way.

I played with the Ti.Radical for 4 years, best racket Head ever produced. Tried the I.Radical and LM.Radical but both were not up to the TI. Sorry when Head dropped the racket.
I switched to a Wilson Surge which is the same 4 point head light as the TI. Also with the open string pattern, the Surge give a little more pop on the ball.
Both play very similar, will test the Flexpoint Tour, 16 x 19 string pattern, but will not go back to dense string patterns again.
Every LM racket I have tried so far has played terrible including the prestige. Just never had the feel of the TI. Head made a huge mistake dropping it. One of the most popular rackets ever!

The open string pattern gives you more pop and spin. In addition, it is must easier to string. The 18 x 20 made the Ti.Radical a little stiff when using poly string.
Also, I think the denser string pattern is harder on joints. It makes the frames feel very stiff and there is little give when you contact the ball. With the open pattern, you have better feel and control because the strings give more.
The denser the pattern the deader the racket and who wants to swing as hard as you can on every shot and barely clear the service line. I found with the open pattern, I could slow down the swing and generate more power. Big improvement with fewer errors.

Thanks Barry,

I think I am leaning toward more open string patterns myself these days. I find that I can use a Volkl C10 Pro pretty good. I really like the extra spin on the serve.

I agree with all the posts about the Ti.Radical. Head's attempt to reinstitute the Twin-tube technology in their newest racquets was to me, a poor attempt to replicate a classic! Their Ti line of radicals was IMO the best feel of any racquet they've ever made. I'd say the i.Rad even feels better than the new LMs. At any rate, I agree with a post someone made some time ago that said racquet manufacturers should just keep a good thing going and maybe change the paint jobs. My personal top five best feeling/hitting/performing racquets (in no particular order) include a mix of old and new:

Wilson HPS7.1 Zone - (Awesome serves, awesome groundies, avg. volleys, excellent drop shot)
Head Ti.Radical OS - (Avg serves, awesome groundies and volleys)
Wilson PS6.0 (85) - (Awesome everything!)
Dunlop MFil 200G - (Very good serves, awesome accuracy/control on groundies, awesome volleys, pretty good drop shot) - if enough folks start playing with this stick, it could become an "ESPN Instant Classic" :)
Babolat Aero Pro Tour - (I didn't put the same hours in on this stick as I had with the previous four, but this was a surprisingly good stick, notwithstanding it's higher than avg. stiffness rating. Good serves, groundies and volleys).
