Any Racquets to go on sale???

With companies such as Wilson, ProKennex, and Yonex all coming out with new player's racquets.....anybody know whether their previous frames will be discounted anytime soon? I've heard Wilson is coming out with a new player's frame. In addition, ProKennex just recently released the Redondo 100% graphite frame, and Yonex has a new player's frame as well which Hewitt and Nalbandian are playing with.

the rdx series and the liquidmetal series (prestige in particular) will go down...but i doubt it'll go down a whole lot (at TW i mean)

I also think the Prestige and RDX 500 will go down. Right now, both Prestiges, the flexpoint and the liquidmetal are the same price.

the LM in certain stores have been at an incredibly low price for a while. When the FXP prestige comes out, the LM should go down to about $80 at the store... i'll just wait and see....because im particularly interested in the prestige and rdx500 mid

Why is everyone assuming that the RDX price will go down? Did the price of the Pure Drive go down when the AeroPro Drive was introduced? From what I can gather, the RDS plays so differently from the RDX that it might not even be a replacement for the RDX, and thus, Yonex may keep both models on the market.

-Okay, then why is it that all the Yonex sponsered Pros all simultaneously switch to the RDS? It's a replacement, lets just hope it plays as well as the RDX...

Because their rackets have paint-jobs and aren't even using the RDX rackets to begin with...Hewitt for example uses the Super RD Tour 90 he's used his entire life.

i think breakpoint brings up an interesting point...and it's almost 100% positive that the prestige will go down, but my question now is, did the mp-tour 1 price not go down when the rdx500 came along?...i guess only time will tell

It would be silly to lower the price of a popular racquet immediately as there are those who feel compelled to "stock up" on the racquet for fear of discontinuation, and they will likely pay full price if they have to.

Because Yonex is introducing a new racquet and they want to promote the new model and make sure everyone knows about it, so they give all their sponsored pros the new RDS paintjobs. Besides if it really was a replacement, why didn't they name it the RDX 600 or something like that? I mean the Prestige has always been called a Prestige and the Radical has always been called a Radical, right?

Most of the Adidas sponsored pros are now wearing the Barricade IV's but is the Barricade II discontinued? No. Have you seen any ads for the Barricade II lately? No. Companies will only promote their latest product introductions. Those new products are the ones that are allocated the big marketing dollars to create awareness of something new that didn't exist before. Initial sales of a new product can make or break a new product's success. So since the RDS is new, it's the one getting all the marketing hype right now.

Hmmm....I just stumbled upon this old thread while I was searching for something else (PK Redondo), and I guess I was correct about Yonex not discontinuing the RDX 500 anytime soon (now that over 3 months have passed since this thread).
