Hello, i am currently attending RVC and on the tennis team, why do you ask?anyone on here from rockvalley college illinois by any chance?
Thats awesome, what high school are you attending? I was on the Hononegah team for my junior and senior year, came 2nd in conference both years at 2 and 3 dubs.oh its no matter now it seems i will actually be attending rockford college.thanks for replying though appreciate it.
By any chance are you Chris?marengo community high school was 2 singles last year and one singles now.i know of a few kids on hononegah played with em at clocktower.
Haha this is Tyler from the clocktower. What have you been up to?YEp howd u know lol lmao
Ya we play Rockford once we get back from Arizona. Man i am a huge fed fan.....the AO final was brutal to watch, but Nadal deserved it. I have been good, in my second semester at RVC and offically started practice last week. We actually have a fairly good team this year, I will probably be playing one or two.nice i thought so not much just playing and all. you guys will be playing rockford as an exhibition im thinking of going out and watching. didnt know u were a fed fan lol.hows it going with u and all?
Ya we have practice from 1:30 to 4:00 everyday at the clocktower, then once it gets nice we play at the Guilford Tennis Center. The kid you played with was probably Brian or maybe Derrick.nice our hs is going to be pretty bad, only me and this one kid that actually really plays.do you guys play at clocktower for practicing till the weather is better or do u guys have inddoor courts?oh and is there a blonde kid,i forgot his name, uses some blue older lookin racket i think on your team?i played with him one time and i thought someone says he plays on rock valley.
Ya its nice playing daily this time of the year. So what racquet have you been using?jeez nice im stuck one day a week still lol till the weather.
Ya i have heard a lot of good things about the tflights. During the summer i used the babolat pure storm limited. However, since december i have bought and traded for three Yonex RDX 500 Mids. They are kind of rare because they were made around six years ago so im glad i was able to find three of them. I have been playing around with some string jobs. Recently i have been using the pro hurricane tour and Xcel hybrid but the third racquet i just recieved today, came with alu power rough and biphase hybrid so i am going to be trying that out too. Also, my coach gets prince synthetic gut for free so i strung my second stick with the prince and Red Code hybrid.ended up trying these tecnifibre sticks and bought three of em. tfight 320 XL, old school like em alot.still using head microgel radical or no>?
Thats cool that you are trying two completely different string setups. Have you tried hybriding the two strings? I have hit with a prestige that had full poly and it produced so much spin, however, gave me some arm pains. That will be tight if you come out and watch, it should be a fun match.jeez nice i really like older rackets period old school feel is the best. ive got two strung with xone biphase red 16g and another with luxilon 15g.not sure just yet if i like the poly.going to hit tommorrow so ill be trying it again.liked it on everything other then the forehand.might go out and see you guys play that rockford college exhibition when it comes up.
Ya that is probably the safe bet with your season coming up. Haha ya that 15g will probably take a year to break . What other string set ups have you tried in the past?yeah its alright on the arm so far i havent hybrid anythin yet because i dont have a stringing machine yet and id rather buy reels and hybrid.so for now just full jobs. yeah for this season ill probably stick with the xone and keep the luxilon in there as a back up,15g shouldnt break that easily compared to the xone lol
Ok nice, at practice tomorrow i am going to hit a few rallies with the luxilion power rough and xone hybrid. I will let you know how it played.full pro hurricane and excel, some wilson synthetic and thats about it right now.really like the xone so far though
Derek! Your profile is awesome. Crazy topspin on the forehand = beast
Ya they were not the best of players but they were cool people. I played #1 dub and #1 singles and won both of my matches 6-0 6-0thats nots suprising. so whod you guy play in the singles and the set scores?
Ya you are really going to enjoy the college tennis experience. Their #1 was athletic but he was lacking some tennis IQ. For example, he hit it to my forehand 90% of the time and i would just hit an approach to his backhand and I would have an easy volley. According to some of their players, the coach is planning to make a trip to Texas or something for a few matches which would be a blast for you. To be honest i think you would enjoy playing for coach Vee at RVC more than the Rockford College coach.nice yeah i remember looking up last years they were all mostly bagels. i cant wait to play college tennis even if im not on a good team lol. so how would u say there 1 singles played?
i know this is over a year old. but does anyone here still play for rock valley? i am hoping to set up a vist soon. right now it is down to my parents.
i know some kids. but dont have their contacts. they play at gtown though[/QUO
ahhh my bad they play at rugothords dIII
We just played rockford college, and we destroyed them. Not to mention that a few of them had never played tennis before this year.
Haha!!! Funny you would bring up Rein, he was our number six singles player last year. He was cramping up really bad during that match at nationals. I played number two for RVC last year, and won nationals at that position.

What school were you there with?yeah you beat our number two... he really didn't give you much of a match
holy crap are you the crazy kid who hurt his ankle at nationals celebrating a win?
haha thats my doubles partner. We somehow won that epic doubles match after his cramping. lol
hey are you still at rock valley?
No, I graduated last year, along with the #2-6 guys on the team. I go to Judson University now.
You will enjoy your time there playing for Coach Vee, he is a great guy and knows a lot about the game. Where are you from?thats cool. i have talked to the coach i am now trying to get my parents to take me on a visit there.
