Anyone tried 4G desert bronze yet?

New version of 4G on the market, desert bronze... seems they made it just for the v14 to match its bronze color.

The only customer review zays it seems to have better snapback and spin than regular 4G, is it true?

Did you try the black one too ?
You're a better player than me so I'm curious, do you still get good results out of 4G in no sun/night/colder conditions?

Cause I get frustrated how it stiffens and loses its great sweet pocketing it has in hot sunny weather and the good spin and power. But it might also be that I don't hit clean enough?

I always string it low at 22kg so it works from the beginning no break time required. I use it on open pattern 18x16. It plays stiffer on 18x20s and closed 16x19s.

Seeing you are the one that started the threads on the 4g Black and Bronze, let’s hear what you have to say. Have you tried them? I have black in a Steam 100 (it’s a pro stock steam 100 if that makes any difference). I like it a lot, but I don’t have much experience with regular 4g to do a proper comparison.

Black only on EU site I think so wont try it. Bronze I have at 50 lbs in v14 and I really like it. Slicker more spin than 4G, but DJTaurus the 4G expert says the feel isn't as good and still wants regular 4G. I think bronze seems softer

No no i am not the 4G expert. It’s just my go to string. It’s just personal taste….desert plays softer and i would suggest anyone who uses 4G soft to use this instead. It has better feel and more power. Normal 4G still gives me even more raw feel than desert. Haven’t tried black yet.

We have our desert bronze strung on a Prostaff 97L V14 at 52 and it feels pretty great. I usually hate 4G but I like it a lot, either because it has sat for a few months without too much play on it, or the dye changed the characteristics a bit more towards my liking
Hey Kungfu Tennis, are you guys the club in Shanghai? Congrats on the opening of your new location (Keystone), haven't been there yet but will certainly go and play there soon. Cheers.

Yes thank you so much! Lets stay in touch, we'll get you in here for a free hour of play (our Greenset AO courts are pretty expensive at 500rmb usually, though we have open play hours that are a great value). Hope to see you here!!!

I have to say luxilon always has the best colored strings with the metallic look. The gold/yellow 4G always looks nice. I would be very curious to try the black one. It looks like it’s available in US tennis warehouse as well! :)

*Played full-bed of the regular 4G twice: the mains start digging into the crosses even before the stringjob is finished. Plays great on 18*20, but nothing phenomenal on 100sq 16*19, apart from the 1st hour of hitting. So, only full-bed for me in small head sizes. Durability is the very good.
