Guga- shortly after hes defeat to Sanchez, Guga beleives he will not able to compete at the highest level until next year. Although hes hip pain has subsided, does not have the physical strength to compete with the top players.
Haas- Shoulder problems, seem to have affected hes serve as it no longer has the sting and potency. Unlikely to ever reach hes career high ranking of no 2.
Coria- Hampered by shoulder problems, and subsequently did not reach an ATP tour final until Rome. Suprisingly KO of the FO before the quarters.
Moya- shoulder problem, is unlikely to regain an end of years masters spot based on current performance and lack of points defended during the clay court swing.
Ferrero- Unlikely to gain many points during wimbledon and had a mediocre French run to say the least. Still not 100% healthy after various illnesses, on the road to making a comeback.
With all these guys not 100% who is there to challenge Federer??. Imagine if the Guga of 2000 (the masters cup winner who defeated Agassi and Sampras on hardcourt) was fully fit, I personally think he would destroy Federer with hes big serve and fluid backhand. Haas (when at no 2) if 100% would certainly contend with Fed on hardcourts. Ferrero could also possibly eclipse Fed on hard-courts based on the US open form, but it seems a tall-order for these guys now to ever conted with Federer.
