Ive been demoing a few Babolat racquets and I found that I really liked the Aero Pro Drive (original) when I was hitting groundstrokes but preferred the Pure Drive Plus when serving. That made me wonder if the Aero Pro Drive might be a good compromise by giving me some more 'oomph' on my serve but being easier to handle on my groundies than the PD Plus. OR, is the PD+ a better racquet once you get used to it.

Anyway, here's a poll so you can let me know what you think.

Oh and Im only comparing the Aero Pro Drive (with or without cortex) to the Pure Drive Plus (with or without cortex). NOT the PD Roddick

i think you should play a match one day with someone better than you. Try to use both racquets and see which one is better for your game.

IMO though, if your a baseliner and a big server, go with the PD(C), if you have a good all-court game, then go with the APD(C)

BruceG,

You might want to take the results of your poll as a very rough guide only. I get the distinct impression that that most of the people who answer them have never used the racquet (or item) in question and are only taking a guess.

Might be helpful if you looked at the TW review for each racquet. I think you'll find that they were more enthused by both versions of the APD+ than either version of the PD+ or the Roddick+. That is only their opinion but it might be more useful than you'll find here.

Hola Bruce,

I have used the Pure Drive + Team and Pure Drive + Cortex and now use the AeroProDrive Cortex. If you want an all court play go for the non + version. If you want to park yourself in the back go for the Pure Drive + Cortex. Serves... in the end you will end up being a good server with either racquet.

Well seeing that I own the APDC plus, my answer is pretty self explanatory. I have used the PDR non plus and thought it was a good racquet but the APDC plus took my game to even new levels. The APDC plus offered more spin, control, and added comfort and touch. Also the aerodynamic throat made it easier to swing at faster speeds resulting in added spin.

I just bought a APDC plus today and I think I'm suffering the grass is greener on the other side of the fence symdron. I sort of think I would go better with non plus. The extra .5 inch makes the plus feels freakish :) , not to mention Nadal chose the other one!
