back hand slice grip

what's the proper grip for the backhand slice? continental or western?

continental. using a western grip would be quite awkward although it might work as a drop shot. I'd imagine the "card-flicking" motion of the western grip backhand slice wouldn't be too nice on the tendons either.

western for slicing? lozl, i use a continental personally. but i hear of someone who uses a semi-western to slice, more forehand than bh.

Either you have no clue what a Western grip is or you have wrists of steel. It is virtually impossible to slice the ball with your hand in that position.

Of course, maybe you were just joking.

Continental. At most an conservative eastern backhand grip.

IMO continental is better, especially when returning powerful serves, or for a chip & charge.
