Ouch!!………
Couldn’t watch the match. Whoever did, can you talk about it please? Her stats looked horrible.

Just one of those days for Paula.

She looked like she was on her last legs for a set and a half against Kostyuk in R3 and it was debateable whether she was going to turn up for this one fit and ready. Winning Sydney and then going straight into a slam looks like it caught up with her, and was definitely struggling.

Credit to Keys though. She still put in a convincing display.

Yeah, basically boils down to that. Had strapping on her shoulder right from the first round.

Watched the highlights and checked the stats. OMG.. 26-18 W/U for Keys to 10/20 for Paula. No one wins with those numbers.

Lol, that's Sabalenka level DF stats.

That's Sabalenka numbers... for a set... on a good day.

Badosa just ran out of gas and she'll learn from this. As another poster said, winning the tournament right before the AO, plus the first 3 matches here, was very taxing, especially since a few of those matches were long grinders. She would have been better off with a little more rest coming into the Slam. I'm not selling my Badosa stock. She's a gamer and looks like she has all the attributes to win a major in the near future.

Badosa had a look on her face like she'd never played an ultra aggressive player before. She looked really put out that Keys just wanted to belt every shot as hard as she could, and essentially not rally.

Second set Badosa just wilted to defeat. Probably a combination of a lot of tennis, the heat, and the fact she just couldn't compute a way to combat Keys.
