how does the 6.1 95 play like? I have been using the PS6.1 classic and demoed the PS97. My PS6.1 c is a little heavy but I am still recovering from GE. The PS97 was quick, somewhat powerfull but doesn't have the heft and plow of the PS6.1 c.

I plan to use a gut hybrid strung about 60/55. Lower tension seems to have me sailing balls long. I am an all- court player at 4.5 level.

How does the 6.1 play compared to the PS6.1 classic and the PS97? I am playing with the PS6.1 c and have demoed the PS97. The PS6.1 c is just a little heavy for me (still getting over GE) but I love its plow and great volleys. The PS97 has good power and is quick- I liked playing with it, but feel it's a little light.

I plan to use a gut hybrid at 60/55. With a lower tension I will sail balls long. I am an all-court player at 4.5level. Let me know what string setup you recommend.

It's a magic stick.

Is your Classic 16x18 and you are asking about the Six.One 18x20 currently offered on TW?

Much more control than the 97, and much more stable. I liked the 97 enough to get a few, partly because the 6.1 went out of production and partly because I wanted something lighter. It plays incredibly well with fresh strings, but I would lose all control when tension dropped. It also ripped through strings, at least for me. One time I ripped through a full bed of ALU in 45 minutes. I thought something was off and got my racquet restrung with my normal ALU syngut hybrid -- ripped through that in 45 minutes the next day too.

The 18x20 6.1 is much more durable

I have the PS6.1 c (circa2001) 18x20. I would like to try out the new 6.1 but they aren't demoing it . I hadn't read any definitive reviews - "its a magic stick" isn't enough for me to buy It.

Tell me more. I am a doubles player using nat gut and poly cross. Priority is on serve pop and volley/slice.

Just got hold of two Prestige IG MP's. A doubles player like you. Great feeling frame and hits a great serve and volley. Also one of the best slicing rackets you can hit. I have an Angell too but the 16x19. Feel is great but like the Prestige just as much. Might be a budget option for you. Needs leather and lead at 3/9. Have customised mine by weighing the stock grip and the leather replacement then adding the difference in lead at 3/9. Enough power and not too heavy at 353g strung.

It certainly is. Such a nice feel off the sweet spot. All I added was a leather grip as I have run out of lead tape and the frame felt so fast and maneuverable. A bit too fast off the ground in fact but awesome up at net. Made some volleys that I wouldn't have with a different frame. Will add in the 6g of lead when my roll arrives and see how it plays then.

Funny. That's how I feel about "stock" Angell TC97 18x20 320g/310mm.
