Best Grip for Comfort and NO BLISTERS

This has probably come up before, but i couldn't seem to find a thread on it.

I've been using yonex super grap since the start of the year, i noticed in winter and autumn (Fall) that i didn't get any blisters, but now that it's Spring here in Aussieland, i tend to sweat more and get blisters on my hand.

What's a good overgrip thats comfortable and is easier on the blisters?

Hi again, i've used both Yonex Supergrap and Wilson Pro on and off over the years, and i always go back to the Wilson. And i'm now going to stick to it, seems more durable and seems to have a smoother suede sort of feel compared to the Yonex. I never get blisters, so i can't vouch for that. Good luck.

I like the original Babolat VS overgrips, switched to them from tournagrip. Nice smooth feel to them.

Play well,
Andrew

I know what your saying man! I didn't get blisters in winter with wilson pro (very similar to yonex) but now I do becuase it's spring (yer Im from sydney too). I didnt get any blisters with tourna but it shred after one session and at $4 a grip (from Rebel Sport) I cant afford it. But you should experiment with every overgrip. Try not to get too tacky like Prince Microzorb (I got blisters from that)

btw, which suburb you from?

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna give tourna grip a try, havent tried it yet. I kinda switch between wilson pro and yonex supergrap. But they both tend to give me blisters now that its spring.
btw, i live in Kellyville, western suburbs, near castle hill.

Western Suburbs you say? Tourna grip is definately recomended because it heats up faster out in the west and since it's spring your gonna be sweating crazy.
Tourna grip is absorbent but be warned: The comfort doesnt last very long. In fact my one didnt even get through a whole set. So if you really like it, buy (2) 30 packs.

Leather is certainly a suggestion worth considering, imo.

I would also try a tacky overgrip as opposed to the suede-finish (slightly fuzzy) ogs you've mentioned. The tackiness prevents slippage between your hand and the grip, which is what causes blisters.

My current favorite is Wilson X-Tra Tack, which also lasts quite well. Duratac is Prince's equivalent. Prince Duraperf may be worth trying -- tacky but the perforations can help heavy sweaters maintain good grip.

I currently use Tournagrip and it has a very good grip, but only for a while. It absorbs sweat really well but almost over 2-3 weeks of tennis, it begins to tear or turns black. I would also recommend getting a lot of these if you really like Tournagrip.

i use babolat leather with yonex grap over it.

it feels really nice, tournagrip over leather just feels a bit to hard.

and to the guy with the hybrid tours: lol i wish i waited before settling on my current sticks :D

That's quite the opposite of how i get blisters on my hand. I use tacky overgrips at the moment, which stick to your hand and when hitting hard shots, the racquet moves slightly and causes skin on my palm to move. When this continuosly happens (Lets say 3-4 hours of play), it causes blisters.

I tried tourna grip. It's very comfortable and moderately tacky. It doesn't cause blisters, but its so hard to wrap. Usually im an expert when it comes to wrapping pro overgrip and super grap. But tourna grip doesnt even stretch, and it makes creases at the bottom. Also, i really dislike the blue colour and the red finishing tape.

Yeah. Too bad they only sell blue here in AUS. Hey maybe you could try the head grips. I think it's purple and similar to tourna can't quite get the name.. Ill look for it. I know they sell it in pro shops

Same here, much better than the prince ones. It does get slippery when wet though, which is why I'm going to draw a little "slippery when wet" sign on my grips.

Wilson H2Over grip is pretty good. Lasts me about 10-20 hours then I need to switch the grip else it gets too slippery. It's a nontacky grip. I used to use Prince DuraTac since it would last me about 6-8 months. But after not playing tennis in 4 years and coming back, the tacky grips were putting 1 inch sized blisters all over my hands.

I use Tournagrip right now and it's a nice grip, it is lasting me for awhile probably because I don't sweat on hands much. But yes, I did get a blister and it stung bad kept me away for around 1 day.. :(

I've tried a lot of grips and tourna grip has worked the best for me so far until I tried Super grap. Now I'm definately going to use Super Grap when it gets chilly and Tourna Grip in the summer.
