Best Overall GS of 2009

I really think the US Open of 2009 has been the best overall tournament of 2009. There were so many great stories, especially on the women's side, and I think it really proved that the women's game is still alive and strong. Kim Clijsters came back in her THIRD tournament and won as a mom, the first mom to win a GS since Goolagong in 1980, and Melanie Oudin, the 17-year-old, proved that American tennis is still alive and strong. And then somehow, Del Potro beats Federer in the finals in 5 sets, and somehow it is the first time since the 2000 Wimbledon that no Russian has made the QF's or better of a GS. Agreed that the 2009 USO has been the best GS of the year?

I never get into the US Open because of the difference in times.. Wimbledon and the French are on late, but manageable..

The AO being my home slam is by far the best spectator wise. And it always has atleast 2 or 3 memorable matches each year..

I'd say AO and FO were overall the best slams this year, many epic matches.Although my favourite slam still remains to be USO.

The French was the best for me purely for the drama of Nadal's streak ending and Fed finally winning the whole thing.

Also had some great matches like Gonzalez's matches, Fed's 5 setters, Monfils playing well with his bad knees, Roddick getting through to quarters etc

I thought Wimbledon was pretty boring this year

I agree, apart from hewitt-roddick,hewitt-stepanek,stepanek-ferrer,dent-gimeno,murray-warrinka,haas-cillic,ferrero-gonzales,roddick-federer.

Wimbledon was pretty boring.

I feel the USO was the worst GS of the year.

No epic matches

Crappy rain delay (but in fairness, what can you do)

Federer played terrible in the final (Losing is fine if you play well, but when you under perform it hurts)

The whole Serena incident

ALL ROUND A BELOW AVERAGE USO.
