Seemed to fit most games well, flexible, hefty, hefty, hefty, plenty of spin. Preferred the Super RD Tour 90 & 95.Ok, so my three RD-7 fit my game better, I like heavier frames standard length.

Bit stiffer, more headlight than the RD7. Like a wet noodle compared to nearly every current racquet.Never played with Super RD Tour.
Guga?
Yeah the FPK is definitely a lot softer than the U2, I don't think the transition to it was that successful. I believe she retired not long after making the switch, not blaming the racquet for her retirement though, I'm sure there were a few other factors as well. Never seen the FPK 85 in the flesh, would be an interesting one to have a hit with. Thanks for the correction. Good read on the FPK 85. The U2 and the FPK are quite different so I’m wondering how Hana was able to transition to the new frame.

I sometimes wonder if Paul Angell was abducted by the aliens who were originally responsible for the Secrets. The TC95 63RA is the more controlled evolved Secret 04, the feel is different but the end result is similar, with the added bonus of less balls hitting the back fence on the full and nowhere near as many framed kick 2nd serves sailing over the fence and into the car park. I do dearly love the Secret 04 and would happily play exclusively with it for eternity if I could find a way to tame the raw power. I have been contemplating for some time a @teachingprotx weight loss and RA reduction procedure on a Secret 04. It is such a burly well made frame, I'm sure that a fair chunk of material can be removed and it'll still be structurally sound. I feel safer talking about this in the Racquets forum rather than the Classics forum where I'm sure crucifixion is mandatory for harming a Classic in such a way.Yeah, I liked both but for entirely different reasons. The U2 is a beefy stick made of braided graphite that wouldn't flex even if you stood on it. You could swing hard as you want and it would stay in. The FPK is a sweet stick, a little more refined.
You know, I just looked at your sig, and it appears we have very similar taste in frames.. Love them Yamaha Secrets. I need to try the Angells though.
Stiff but played like wet noodle?Bit stiffer, more headlight than the RD7. Like a wet noodle compared to nearly every current racquet.
Had to use both 25 yrs ago to understand. Can feel the flex compared to those Wilson 6.1 95. Or that HPS 5.0 95Stiff but played like wet noodle?
I see. I think not flex like Volkl C10Pro?Had to use both 25 yrs ago to understand. Can feel the flex compared to those Wilson 6.1 95. Or that HPS 5.0 95
The most flex Yonex i played was RQ-180.Had to use both 25 yrs ago to understand. Can feel the flex compared to those Wilson 6.1 95. Or that HPS 5.0 95
More flexible, especially the RD7. Still own the Volkl and SRD Tour 95I see. I think not flex like Volkl C10Pro?
Ever use the RX-32?The most flex Yonex i played was RQ-180.
I like RD-7 for plowing through. Got three sticks with little dif pj.More flexible, especially the RD7. Still own the Volkl and SRD Tour 95
No, i got RQ-180 because one of my favourites Cash played with it.Ever use the RX-32?
That plow-through was/is too much. Too evenly balanced.I like RD-7 for plowing through. Got three sticks with little dif pj.
At that tlme (second half of the 80's) the only top male player used Yonex was Gomes. But he wasn't my hero. I remember how i was dissapointed discover that Pat switched from mega popular Prince (he played with metal Magnesium Pro 90) to strange head shape Yonex (R-50 was his first Yonex). It looked like absolutely female ravquet for me then.Ever use the RX-32?
I could change balance by myself, no problem. But plow through is like Rios forehandThat plow-through was/is too much. Too evenly balanced.

Anyhow you should try the Angells.
Still own one 04. Locally, only guys that used it complained of cracking.Well, it so happens that I have 4 secret 04s.. 2 of them are pristine and the other needs a facelift. I’ve removed the finish on 1 of them already so I should post a before and after pic when finished. With that coating gone, and trimming the bumper just to to grommet strip should bring it down to about 12.5oz strung.. like my prince 90s. Still in progress though.
Always thought that the 04 were powerful and controllable at the same time. Wonderful frames and superb craftsmanship. Too bad they were so short lived.
Yes, she used the Ultra 2 MidDidn’t Hana Mandlikova win the U.S. Open with a Wilson Ultra 2?

It was a paint job. Thanks for the correction. Good read on the FPK 85. The U2 and the FPK are quite different so I’m wondering how Hana was able to transition to the new frame.
Not technically in this category, but it's been a shockingly long time since a blade has won a slam. Last was Novak at the 2008 AO I believe.
Good point. I was referring more specifically to the 98 sq inch frame.Has Serena not won anything since 2008?

FrameThe actual frame cracking or just the paint?

I did not crack one. However, cannot tell you how many Yonex R-22 cracked. Saw a kid snap the head off a Dunlop MAX 200GInteresting. Not seen one cracked as of yet. These things are pretty bullet proof.
