Hey guys, I'm have to order some strings for the increasing number of customers I'm getting.

Was wondering, for basic recreational players that just want some syn gut, should I offer Gosen Micro 16 or Pro Supex Spiral Flex 16? I would perfer Gosen since its cheaper, but I'm concerned it isn't a quality string.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

don't......it's price is a direct reflection of its playability

I would offer this: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageACGOSEN-OGS16.html, Prince Sythetic Gut Duraflex, Gamma Synthetic Gut, Forten Sweet 16 or Wilson Extreme Sythetic gut

I've never heard of Pro Supex but if it is a bargain basement string I wouldn't offer it either.

spiral flex is a great string, very soft

i would suggest that or prince original syn gut(no duraflex)

oh and rich, pro supex, while being one of the cheapest companies, produces some exeptional quality strings, big ace is the best poly ive ever used at high tensions

Yeah how have you not heard of pro supex? It gets lots of talk on this board.

I think that he's trying to share some info with you. I also hadn't heard of ProSupex not too long ago but they're a quality company - just not as well know as some other brands.

Wrong. Gosen OG Micro plays just as well (if not better) than all those synthetic guts. Its a fine string.

Beg to differ......OG Sheep Micro plays as well or better....the generic no-printing on the string OG Micro plays horribly. I quit stringing with it for myself and others because it is just plain bad.....

exactly, i wansnt trying to criticize or say that just because i like it, then everyone should, i was simply pointing out that they make high quality strings

heres where I really need to add my comment; I bought a reel of Gosen OG Micro reel (which, when I called gosen, they claimed it to be Gosen OG Sheep) and it played terrible. I trashed these strings every 3-5 hours, which was horrible, and it lost tension for me quite quickly. Gamma Synthetic gut is alot better, however, I cannot comment on pro supex synthetic gut. I'm about to order a reel/packs of PSGD though.

we're good.......it's not what you said .......with the way you phrased it and the frame of mind I was in, I made more out of it than I should have..... no worries

Thanks for the insight guys..I think Gosen Micro should be ok, given these guys are just recreational players.I might get a reel of PSGD just as a side choice

If I use Gosen Micro Sheep 17 for the mains, what should I use for the crosses? I am not a string breaker, I've used this string before, and it lasted me a long time. I would like to use something that is 16 for the crosses and would like to keep the price down.

Thanks.

Both good strings but I would definately spend the few extra $'s on the spiral flex, you wont be sorry its a great cheap string and very durable. looks cool in black too.

Sprial Flex 195 stiffness (lbs/in)
Titan 211 stiffness
Forten Sweet 212

Perhaps you should go with 17g crosses for more spin and feel:
Titan 17g 202 stiffness
Forten Sweet 17g 194 stiffness
