does anyone slice with eastern backhand grip? Do any pros do that? Did nalbandian switch his right hand grip when he sliced his backhand?

Thanks!

The reason no ebh slices is that it needs an early contact point, which you can use a topspin shot to hit.
When pros slice, it's defensive, so the ball is coming harder or deeper than comforatable, thus the conti grip slice with a SLIGHT twist towards eFOREhand, for a latter contact point, more defensive.

I like to practice my slice backhand using my topspin backhand grip because sometimes you are stuck there and I dont want it to be totally unfamiliar. That said, continental gives a smoother stroke, a more comfortable swing.

Of course, it's important to be able to slice with your topspin grip.
But think, WHEN do you use slice? Usually when pressed wide on a full speed run, so you need to be able to take the ball late, or behind you, like the pros. That is the basis for conti with a slight twist towards eForehand.
If you can take a ball with your normal forward contact point, why bother to slice? Especially a slice that is fast with moderate spin? You slice to get heavy backspin, hopefully to cause a skidding ball, and with offspeed and skidded bounce.
