Hey guys, just wanted to let you know about the new Thomas Reynolds clothing line by Fila that Blake is going to be sporting at the US Open.

The line is named after his late father.

So be on the lookout for the new signature line from James Blake, Thomas Reynolds by Fila.

^^ Yep, baggy shirts arn't great looking. Even on Roddick it makes him look strange.

it's nice and all what he is doing in the name of his father but i honestly think that he ought to focus on his rapidly fading career.
I mean losing in the 1st round of majors back to back has got to give you a kick in the rear end and push you to try harder and man up
why hasn't the coach been fired or what's he waiting to resign?

Yeah, I think so. I know his dad's name was Thomas Blake, so Reynolds must've been his middle name.

Well he's injured right now, and trying to get healthy. And plenty of guys release new clothing lines-gear around the start of the USO. Doesn't mean they're any less focused.

Will this gear be limited edition?

Or are FILA releasing it everywhere?

EDIT: Just read on Fila's statement that the USO gear will be limited edition and then the collection will lauch worldwide at the AO.

I love that pic, with James in the sun and the crowd slightly shadowed. I'm sure it is a special effect, but it looks great.

I like the clothes, but wish James would wear his shorts and shirts a little better fit.

It's a shame Blake didn't sign with a company that would give him his own clothing line before he started to plummet in the rankings. You have to wonder what Fila is thinking, it's not like Blake ever achieved any amount of greatness, just mediocrity. Clothing does look nice though, and I doubt Fila designed the shirts to be that baggy, Blake just prefers to wear them too big. Like Roddick, who prefers to wear his Lacoste shirts baggy. Lacoste is famous for cutting their shirts small.

Blake is marketable, plain and simple. He may not be an amazing player anymore, but he still attracts swoons from the ladies and his life story is phenomenal. Just read "Breaking Back" and you'll see what I mean.

I think he used "reynolds" to take the focus off himself. But that's the only explanation i can come up with. :-\ I can't wait for it to come out. I love JB, he kicks ass, well, not lately, but he does. He looks really mopey around the court the last few times. hanging his head and looking all pissed off. I hope he gets his groove back before the USO

If you want to check out his new clothing line, you better watch his first round match @ the US Open. I predict there won't be a second round match for him this year.

If the logo patch on his breastpocket is meant to be a stylised "TR" it doesn't stand out as patently obvious...it appears at first glance to be a picture of an outstretched T- shirt. But then again, when I first laid eyes on Borg's "BJ" logo it wasn't too obvious either, seen through a small TV sceen.
My all time fave is the cool Vilas Fila "GV" from years back, followed by Lendl's colourful Mondrian-inspired "IL"

The stuff looks good, I like the direction they're going with it. Hopefully he gets a chance to showcase it at the Open in some big matches.

The new gear looks nice.

I'd love to see Blake make another run @ the Open. Hopefully he gets some inspiration from the crowd there. IMO that's what he's been lacking recently.

if JB is wearing his new clothing line, hopefully he'll get inspired by wearing his fathers name on his chest and maybe MAYBE get to the 3rd round...PLEASE james blake, please win a couple matches this year. T_T

Um...another thing....The Thomas Reynolds line is going to release some more....colorful options, right? The only shirt available right now is white with the vaguest hints of blue and navy. There's nothing wrong with wearing white, but James Blake's favorite color is carolina blue and shouldn't they have some blues in the TR line? The US Open is NOT Wimbledon, you don't wear your tennis whites, you get your color on. Like last year, Blake looked awesome.

Fila also needs to release some better shoes..I just looked at their shoes on TW and talk about "boring".....JB has always dressed really colorfully and looked kickass, except at wimbledon, and I'm all for vintage looks, but he also needs to add some modern design to his line, or it will fail miserably.

There is a nice navy blue in the link JRProstaf gave. He'll probably wear that for night matches (if he plays any :( )

Yeah, I saw that, but it's just not colorful. Remember when JB wore the Agassi neon clothes at the USO? That was awesome, If the entire line is just going to be white and navy, I'm not buying. :-( I want some flashier stuff if I'm gonna spend my money. As much of a Blake fan as I am, I have enough white tennis clothes. lol.

I guess I go against the grain when I say that I like the baggy look better than the tailored cut fit too. :???:
