Blisters on palm

So I've been playing quite a bit lately. I'm a university student who usually is only able to play in the summer, but being sent home for the semester has given me more time to play (without shaking hands, of course). I hadn't played for around six months, but since I've been back I've been loving being on court for 2+ hours every day. Repetition is a beautiful thing - noticed huge improvements in only two weeks.

The other day I developed two pretty mean blisters on my lower palm. I was playing with a completely worn out grip without realizing and it was constantly rubbing against me. Really hoping the blisters arrived as a function of that and going from 0 to 15+ hours a week of having the racquet in my hand, and not due to poor technique. I usually have a very relaxed grip and my grip is the correct size.

Tried to give it a go today but after 15 minutes and five different band aids falling off I called it quits. Itching to play, but know I should probably rest for a day or two. I also have blisters on my feet but those don't really bother me.

So - do you guys get blisters after coming back from a long break? Am I only getting them because the calluses have yet to re-form? Is there anything I should to be doing to avoid blisters other than regripping more often?

like any tennis player I used to get blisters. I NEVER get them now. Basically get a super huge handle and don't grip tight. Blisters gone.

So go up to a larger size or just wrap another overgrip to start.

I don’t get blisters because I play every day and use a Volkl or Pro Kennex handle that has soft but caps and over grips. I have had people with Yonex handles with trouble so we tapped around the hut cap to raise it and the problem was solved.
