BLX 6.1 95 Asian vs Prostaff BLX 95

Hi guys,

I currently have a BLX 6.1 95 Asian version, which is 10.9oz unstrung, 9pts HL with a 16x18 pattern.

I'm now looking for a second racquet, and am unsure whether to stick with the asian BLX 95 or try the Prostaff BLX 95. Initially, (before it came out) I leaned towards the latter, but it seems reviews on here aren't that glowing. Weirdly enough, the PS BLX seems to retail for more than the Asian BLX 95 here in Singapore but I managed to find a supplier who sells both at the same price.

The thing is, I have an Asian BLX 95, which is rather similar in static weight to the PS BLX 95. Will a 16x19 pattern allow me more control on my shots as well?

Any opinions, especially from those who played with the two before, would be greatly appreciated!

How have you found the Asian 95?

What are you looking for a new racquet to provide that your existing one doesn't?

What characteristics are you looking to maintain from your current racquet?

The only problem I have had with my Asian 95 was the string pattern was a little too open, and I have problems controlling my shots sometimes. On the flip side, sometimes I expect the ball to go long but it just dips in somehow. But overall, I'd prefer more of a closed pattern. Will 16x19 make a difference in that sense?

The Asian 95 isn't that steady on hard volleys as well. Maybe something a little stiffer would suit me?

However, the dilemma I have now is that I don't really want something vastly different, as I plan to use these two sticks together so it should be easy to get used to.

Thanks!

I also have the asian BLX and really like it..now I want a backup and will either buy another one as the old model is still on sale in BKK or wait for the new model..not sure. I looked at the PS as they have the new models but its way heavier than the 309 gr BLX

Yes the new model has been on sale since January. You have to go around Queensway Shopping Centre in Singapore to find them though. It's about S$260-280 here.

The PS 95 is 312g, shouldn't be way off?

The PS 6.1 95 I saw in the tennis shop was 337gr...I will go and recheck
Are the new BLX 6.1 95 the same specs as the previous model...309gr unstrung ?
