I was just looking at the specs of all the asian N/K/BLX 90 series racquets when I noticed that they are very similar to the new PS 6.1 95 BLX racquet. The asian versions are all around 11.3 strung and the balance at 9pts HL and the PS 6.1 95 BLX is at around 11.6 strung at 7pts HL. It seems that the asian versions of the tour series seem to be pretty popular on this board but the new PS 6.1 95 BLX does not even though they are very close in spec. Anyone have any idea why that may be? All thoughts welcome!

Actually they are 11.3 oz unstrung so it's not actually the same
Really? Even then though. Doesnt that only add .5 ounces after its strung. so 11.8 vs 11.6?

The asian 90's needed less lead in the hoop than the new 6.1 ps blx 95. Not many want to customize. For those that do, the psblx looks good. I have one coming, and will post results after its leaded up.

Yeah I agree. I was just thinking that most people who wanted the asian version would tend to want something a bit on the lighter side as compared to the US version. When looking at the specs of this new PS 95 it just seems to mimic the asian versions that are produced. sooooo........to me that says that these should be more popular as a lot of people seem to love the asian versions. just my 2 cents. let us know how your racquet turns out.

The 6.1 PS 95 is 326g, 32 cm balance and 305 swingweight.
A big difference, in swingweight most importantly. But if you add about 5 grams of lead to the 95 at 12 and throw a leather grip on it, you have basically the same specs as the Asian. This takes 10 minutes. All the people who were begging for the Asian versians to be sold in the States now can't be bothered to do a simple customization job and instead whine about how light the stick is.

agree with this totally. Just seems funny that people beg for something like the new PS and then when they get it they whine. I personally think it is great for a wide range of people from club to college level players. Do you play with the stick?
I haven't tried it yet but I will in the Spring. The Asian K90 has been my stick for several years. There have been some negative reviews of the 95 by posters I respect and who have a lot of history with the Pro Staff lineage, but I've got to try for myself.
Yeah I have noticed that as well. I think that if you try not look at it as a pro staff racquet it would probably get better reviews. But that is just my opinion. I will probably be switching to this racquet as I will start my career as a teaching pro in June and I will be endorsing wilson so they will give me a racquet, shoes and string and stuff.
