Fixed it for youOkay yeah, didn't see that picture so yeah. It's a Boom paint job
It is the real Boom Pro in the pictureFixed it for you
To be clear, I have no issue with them switching him to a new 'paint job'. From a marketing standpoint, it makes perfect sense: You already have two widely recognized Italian players using Head racquets in Berrettini (Extreme) and Sinner (Speed). Why double up on the Extreme line with Musetti?
Also...I'm assuming he's not switching frames, given that (as I understand it) Musetti was actually using the Extreme Tour mold. I guess maybe now would be a good time to loop @dr325i into the conversation?
Is he switching? Or is he just goofing around at the Next Gen finals? It is the real Boom Pro in the picture
It did disappear and he may be going BoomIs he switching? Or is he just goofing around at the Next Gen finals?
And…did this thread disappear for half a day?!??
It did disappear and he may be going Boom
Saw an official pic from heads Instagram. The mint green is nice
What prompted him to switch? What is he trying to gain/change?
Bianchi Celeste is the colour; you know, the bike company that championed the use of Countervail tech. - worked out much better for them than it did for Wilson.Saw an official pic from heads Instagram. The mint green is nice
According to our resident Head expert, switch…at least for now.Switch or just PJ switch?
Who is they? I’m still seeing players using it.Man, they just totally ditched the silver and yellow extremes. Like it was the plague of head releases.
mom interested in boom.
Although the good dr. did say he may not he is...According to our resident Head expert, switch…at least for now.
My guess would be he’s using this tournament/exhibition to put the new frame to the test. Maybe make some tweaks, then spend some time in the off season getting used to it, and make a decision before heading to Australia.
FAA did something similar with the PA VS, using the new version at the ATP Cup, then going back to his original frame.
Hmmm...good point. He originally said it was the "real Boom Pro in the picture", then, as you pointed out, "he may be going Boom". No "yes, absolutely 100% he used the Boom Pro in the match against Baez".Although the good dr. did say he may not he is...
You mean like this guy, who played Nakashima yesterday?Who is they? I’m still seeing players using it.

Yes actually, Head has most silos:Does Head have the most racket lines?
So confusing even for a gear junkie.
Yes actually, Head has most silos:
- Gravity
- Speed
- Radical
- Extreme
- Prestige
- Boom
They are all different with some "overlaps". But I'd say they have no gaps in their portfolio

Instinct! What Head racquet does the Boom feel closest to?
Not at this point. The Instinct continues into 2022.Is Boom replacing Instinct?
That's not what I am feeling in the Pro version and in my short time with the MP prototype.Instinct!
I would not say "replacing" however, Instinct is history (retail)Is Boom replacing Instinct?
As 360+, there will not be Auxetic InstinctNot at this point. The Instinct continues into 2022.

Yes. Just a cosmetic changeAs 360+, there will not be Auxetic Instinct
Looks like a short-lived switch. He's playing with the Extreme Tour today against Gaston.According to our resident Head expert, switch…at least for now.

Still in the testing phase. Rublev did this a couple of years ago when he was still with Wilson. He used an Ultra, Burn and Pro Staff during this event.Looks like a short-lived switch. He's playing with the Extreme Tour today against Gaston.

I’m not going to go searching, but at some point last year @dr325i confirmed Musetti was using the Extreme Tour mold (most likely the pro stock layup, but I’m guessing at that). The head shape of the racket Musetti is using looks a bit like that of an LM Instinct or is he in fact using an Extreme?
I suspect Sparky Polastri is involved. Its like they all consulted the same racket design consultant and determined that 2020s were the years of asymmetrical throat color blocking. Is originality dead?
