John Yandell's intro :

Bungalow Bill, legendary internet commentator, makes his debut with an analysis of one the best and most underrated one-handed backhands in the game, that of Mark Philippoussis, illustrated with gorgeous high speed footage. For several years Bungalow has been the dominant voice on the extremely active message boards at Tenniswarehouse.com. He has made literally thousands of instructional posts, and corresponded and debated with players and coaches from around the planet, making a significant contribution to world tennis knowledge. In addition to his articles, Bungalow will have his own section in our Forum where he can continue this dialogue directly with our subscribers. This is a very valuable addition for all of us so take advantage!

Hey it's always nice to be quoted. The only thing I'll add is that the Tennisplayer.net Forum is now actually free, so you can see what is going on there with Bill and myself and a lot of other interesting characters, theorists, et al. The only restriction is you won't be able to see the videos posted in the boards directly from the site.

Nice recognition for tireless, high quality work.

However, just wonder: is that Bungalo Bill or Bungalow Bill?:)

When I first started posting here it was Bungalow Bill. Then a couple years ago (I think it was a couple years ago) they switched to a different bulletin board software. I tried logging in with Bungalow Bill but it wouldn't take. So I had to recreate a new user name and dropped the W.

So with John's site I got the W back! ;) Thanks for the compliment Marius, I appreciate your words.

This must be one top of the notch message board. John Yandell is a legend, and I'm sure I will come to see that Bungalo Bill is a legend in his own right on this forum. Looking forward to learning from you guys!

There are so many great tennis sites including that of JY but this Board moves quite fast -- faster than any instructional site I have ever seen. The quality of instructions albeit without pictures, is just world class. Credit must go to the TW staff and TW President, Don Hightower. I think we are a dream team! Continents have indeed come closer here!

phillipousis is crap, he has no agility, he probably takes about 20 secounds to run 100m. also his forehand swing is so long and awkward, no to mention the horrible barking noise he does when he hits a shot.

Yeah, you have a point. But you say his forehand is garbage (which I will never agree on that one) so why don't you breakdown his forehand and show us? I would love to debate that with you.

I don't think anyone would argue that he certainly has slowed down since his surgery. I was very dissapointed with his injury and his early exit from tennis. It was like seeing Rafter leave tennis.

But in this article we aren't talking about his forehand or his agility. We are talking about the fundamental elements of his onehanded backhand.

Let me put it this way, no matter what pro you analyze there are always things to learn.

Yeah too bad people like Mahboob, Bungalow, NoBadMojo, FiveO, and Yandell never hear a peep from them about making this board excellent. The only thing that has kept me here is my mission with the name Bungalow Bill.

1. It is to be free.

2. It is to be to help the masses with truthful information as much as my knowledge base can provide.

3. It is to be controversial at times to generate interest and spark emotion.

4. It is to be fun.

5. It is to help the sport of tennis grow.

6. It is to help TennisWarehouse grow.

7. It is to be (to the best of my human abilities) non-personal.

8. It is to be of value

9. It is to the best of my abilities to be non-self promoting (hence the nickname, hence sometimes I can't help the direction things go in).

Oh well, back to work.

You must be new to this board.

Bungalow Bill was a legend here long before I came in, I think even when the old (now archived) board was in place, I heard from the veterans, and before the local programmed counters started to count postings to give you a name:)

One just has to look at the quality of some of his postings.

Hell, one can be a legend with 5 articles, if they so impress the audience with some truths.
