No he didn't - I'm pretty sure it will be quite easy for a player in the future to reach way more than 6 slam finals, let's say, 26 slam finals, and not win a single one. If his main rival is just that much better, he won't win a slam, it's quite simple.

Yeah but surely if you are good enough to reach 26 finals you'd be good enough to beat whoever you faced if he was a shade below his best or something ;)

It's a good thing that Nole is continue winning because that will motivate Nadal to comeback strong and fight for his position as the 2nd best player in this generation. Nadal's goal was always trying to catch Federer, but since that's out of the question, he doesn't want Nole to surpass him.

Nole is already on 6. And is going really strong particularly at HC slams. He should win 5-6 more atleast because there's no new challengers on the block.

It's funny because at the end of 2010, nobody was in sight to challenge Nadal. Nobody.

Novak doesn't have enough margin against Murray to say that there is no challenger: if Andy can be as aggressive against Nole as against Fed, he will see the challenge. Everywhere.

And frankly at this point, Djokovic has half Nadal's slams. He has won 4 in his two best years. It is far too early to see him win 6 more.

Interesting chart from someone on Facebook...

Shows the number of slams for Federer, Nadal and Djokovic by age.

Looking at the chart you would think it would be impossible for Djoko to catch up but I guess you have to take into account the fact that Federer is getting older and Nadal is sketchy at best and probably won't win another slam other than the French Open. If Murray can't step up to the plate big time then I suspect Djoko will win quite a few more. Unless someone like Delpo can make a move.

Interesting chart. I agree that with a lot of if and little unless he can win a few more.

the start point for rafa should be right on the 19 not like this graph on 18 and a half..apart from that minor quibble..

you cant really tell much from age of player vs number of majors..too many variables..motivation, injuries, general wear and tear..etc.

still interesting to see like this though..visually :)

That's true. There are many variables. I think he will probably win between 10-12 majors.

Nah, Nadal is done. Lance will surpass him and then push Fed's slam count as well.

Apparently Spanish tennis players are involved as well. Looks like the cyclists are the fall guy in this because they're an easy target. Tennis players and football players will likely get away free.

'Nadfans' and 'Fedhaters' better pray to God, Nads isn't involved because if he is the talk about Federer being cheated out of more than 1 FO title/CYGS will never end on this forum.

Djokovic and Nadal's totals

I think that Nadal will finish up with 14 or 15 slams and Djokovic will finish up with 12 or 13. Yes, that is not as much as Roger - but still that puts them both in the bracket of being among the greatest players in open era history!

How about 4 Roland Garros, 1 Wimbledon and 1 Aussie Open. That would be 6 more slams under his belt - 23 total. And yes 2 CYGS (2006/2007)

Nah, I don't think Novak will pull it off. Nadal will surely win more, and novak is crashing and burning. He'll be out of the top 10 by the end of the year.

His recent results make you wonder if he's going to just be the King of Australia. But I still voted Yes. With Nadal and Fed less dominant and none of the new breed stepping up, it's just him and Murray - they could easily split the majors booty for the next 4 yrs.

Do you think Rafa is not gonna win another Major ?
