Chris - Fila Torneo

Chris,

I am looking at the Torneo as my new shoe since the BII warranty is no longer available. I have worn the BII since 2002 - and the arch is about perfect for me.

The Torneo is described as a medium height arch - and the BII has no arch description on the main page - but lists medium height in the review. I looked at a bunch of shoes yesterday - and almost all of them are listed as medium height - even most of the New balance - which I have historically found to have no arch relatively speaking.

I noticed you are wearing the Torneo now - can you offer me a direct comparisson to the BII in arch height and overall fit? Also can you compare the sizing of the two models?

Thanks in advance.

I wear my regular size in both shoes with no issues regarding length fit.

The majority of shoes are made with close to a medium height arch support as it will be suitable for most foot types. However, there is always some variance.

Compared to the BII, the Torneo is a much lighter feeling shoe. While the height of the arch fit is very similar between the two, I would give the support to the BII as it is stiffer through the midfoot.

I'm finding good arch support from the Torneo, but I think if the shoe were a little stiffer in that area, it would be an improvement to an otherwise very impressive shoe.

Overall, the BII is the more supportive and durable. The Torneo the more comfortable and it feels lighter and faster.

Even though I've noticed the outsole of the Torneo wearing down faster, it comes with Fila's 7-moth guarantee (the BII no longer comes with a guarantee), so for durability, you’d actually be better off with the Torneo.

In the end, both are great shoes.

Hope this helps.
