Clamp Slipped After Tying Off 1st Main

How does this affect tension?

After tying off the first main, I proceeded to start tying off the second main. I had to reach underneath the frame to push the string back up through the knot of the second main tie off. When I did, I hit the first main's clamp and it fell loose.

The second main was still clamped. So, how, if at all does this affect tension?

I'd say not at all. You'd tied off the side the clamp slipped off of, right? You gotta take the clamp off sometime. :)

Yes, the first main was completely tied off. The second main was clamped and I was tying it off. The first clamp popped off and it didn't appear the strings moved at all.

I'm still new to stringing so anything that goes differently than my normal procedure always worries me.

Once a string is tied off, you can take off its clamp, so in this case, no harm done. You were ready to take off that clamp anyway, right?

As long as both ends of the string are tensioned either with a clamp or a knot, then you won't be losing tension.
