Hi Morten, it depends on the stores. First few posts you can see the classics were sold dirt cheap. most of the racquets were between AUD$5-$80. Then I found prices in the two Tokyo stores selling used racquets to be much more, however as you can see, Tennis Support Centre had very reasonable prices. Tennis 486 was dearest. They had some PS85 st Vincent's between AUD$350-$700.

Did you buy any more racquets after the iPrestige and Vacuum Classic Pro 90? Among all the frames you have shown, I would probably have gone for that Erbacher Black Cat. I suspect it is identical to one of Dunlop's Maxpower models, but I didn't know they also sold it under the Erbacher brand. Maybe it's another one of those Japan-only things?

hi Sanglier, I didn't add to my buys so only brought back those two. I was after another PT630 for my collection. My in-laws are there and I've asked some friends to be on the lookout for me in those Off House stores.

Omg what a dream. Can't wait to make my way to Japan one day and visit some of these places. I recently discovered the used racquet market on Rakuten which is like an online version of what I see in these photos. I got some amazing old Yonexs for such little money.

Yoneyama, there's an even bigger used market on yahoo auctions japan. However you'd have to use a third party to get them delivered like buyee or jauce.

I believe these have a cult following over there.. seen some refurbished (repainted) ones with an asking price of around $400 on Rakuten.

I spy a LM Prestige in the bargain bin for $37.. damn.

No kidding man ! Why don’t we have shops like this ? And where on Earth are they getting their inventory ?
I’m not smart enough to do the money exchange so I have no idea how much any of these babies are goin for in American dollars ?

hi teachingprotx, 1000yen is approx. US$9.

That first store I posted about where I got the iprestige MP all on those two racks were below 5000yen with 30% off the price tag on top of that. Felt like I was stealing from them haha

Fo the most up to date exchange rates I just type the 2 denominations in the search box of my favorite engine.

We don't have shops like this because everyone on this message board are hoarding these :) If 10 of us had a field trip to those shops in Japan, we would decimate their stock.

@gavan55 , how many did you buy and how are you taking your rackets back home if you don't mind my asking? If you do no harm or foul, was just curious. Having them shipped, paying for excess luggage, checked baggage, carry on? Any kind of import export fees?

I would love to see examples from other TT members about similar finds around the world if there is anything remotely like that. I've never seen anything like this before.

hi graycrait, I only bought the two racquets I found early in the trip being the Head iprestige MP and the Fischer Vaccum Pro. Just packed them in my largest suitcase with no issues. I really was looking for more Head Pro Tours but unfortunately didn't come across any. In hindsight I could have probably brought back a couple more or even got an extra bag and checked it in. There would be no import export fees for these.
I'll be prepared on my next trip. This was really the first time I came across these stores on my many trips to Japan.

I have a vacation to Japan coming up in a month.

btw, let me know if you ever visit Bali and want to play tennis. Even on a red clay court.
