Cost of stringing in Canada

I pay 17$ clean for stringing at RCS and I trust them fully. National Sports strings for free if you buy the strings from them or else it's 10$ but their work is quite questionable.
There's also Sporting Life and they string for the pros when they come to town(Toronto). However they cost a lot. I don't know how much the labour alone costs, but I know that Wilson Sensation costs 40$(that includes the purchase of the strings and labour)+tax and if you want some VS Gut, it'll set you back 80$. http://www.sportinglife.ca/Services/racquets/
Any other Canadian TWers care to chime in?

thanks for the tip on rcs sports. i'll have to get up there.

i looked it up on a map and it's in north scarborough???

i've pretty much paid close to C$50 at sporting life for decent strings.

i think merchant of tennis on bayview is a little cheaper than that.

sporting life is not that much more than smaller pro shops. there is a place by me that charges $35 for sensation and obscene prices for gut. cheaper to buy own string and pay $10 for labour - saves you 50% if you buy sensation from tw and pay $10 to get it strung.

never, ever go to national. they might do your racquet ok once but the odds are against you in the long run. might as well let my 2 yr old string racquets.

Don't know what map you saw, but RCS is in north Scarborough(300 Silver Springs Boulevard).
But that 17$ is for the labour only.

most smaller pro shops charge $10-$12 for labour, $15 at the most, ones that i know of anyway. $17 at rcs on those crappy gamma machines they have is a little steep but if it's close it's probably wirth it since you save on gas.

I have already seen a place where they strung somes Head IntelliString for 45$. That's pretty expensive for that string.

lol it's funny that you are quibbling over a few bucks with that screen name.
So you know of places that offer a better service and a better price too? Do tell!

like i said, if you like them and they are close to you go to rcs. i wouldn't drive around for a few bucks. i have 4 tennis pro shops around me so i have a good choice and they charge $12. $5 per racquet adds up (vs rcs $17). not sure how much competition is around rcs without driving to merchant or ron sloan.

my user name has nothing to do with my financial status, trust me.

Experienced stringer in GTA

I've been stringing rackets in GTA for about 12 years. I charge a very reasonable rate. Wilson sensations are only $24.99 and that includes the strings and labour. I have a 110% gurantee for my stringing job. If I bring your racket, not only will I pay for it, I include a free stringing job of your choice with it. I do not charge a premium for any hybrid combo's. 24 turnaround.
