Couple questions(serve related)

Is it normal for a player that's still learning to hit a kick serve to hit a slice as their second serve? Not all the time though, like 50% of the time.

Also, I wanna practice my toss for my flat, slice, and kick serve, is there a picture that shows where to toss the ball for each serve?

1. yes its normal to hit an easier serve on the 2nd serve, but you are only going to learn the kick serve if you practice it

2. you should have the same toss for all serves (theoretically) in practice its not so easy so to make each serve easier to hit the ball toss should be 12 for flat serve, 1 for slice and 11 for kick serve, just putting round figures on each. But take into acct that you lose the advantage of variety of serve if your opponent can pick whatyou serve due to your serve

Second serves are almost always spin serves of one kind or another (nore reliable).

Usually a first serve is hit with less spin "flat" to generate speed (but sacrafice reiability).

Because they require more accuracy it is harder for a beginner to consistantly hit flat serves. A topspin or a kick make good substitutes. They both have some topspin to drive them down into the service court.

For your second serve you could hit the same shot, or, if you are just learning them and are not confident, you could use the slice. The slice does not really drive the ball down into the service court, but the spin helps slow down the forward momentum and allows gravity to do its work. It is a reliable second serve
