Crazy that Federer and Nadal had consecutive sets won streaks ended by losing from 2 Sets Up.

2018 Wimbledon - Federer had won a Wimbledon record 34 consecutive sets, including Sets 1 and 2 of his Quarterfinal Match against Anderson before losing in 5 sets

2021 Australian Open - Nadal had won 35 consecutive sets in Grand Slams (tied for 2nd most, 1 set behind Federer's record), including Sets 1 and 2 of his Quarterfinal Match against Tsitsipas before losing in 5 sets.

I thought Federer's consecutive set record was from 2006 USO to 2007 RG? He lost sets against Cilic in 2018 AO so it couldn't been a consecutive set record. It would have been a consecutive set record at Wimbledon in 2018.

In Wimbledon, not in general...

I think it shows that especially Federer and Nadal need to win in straight sets these days. Djokovic out of the 3 is definitely the best at winning in tighter 4 or 5 sets.

Out of the 3 Djoker is now easily the best out clutching out wins in nervy situations. Eventually he will lose that edge too but for now that’s how it is
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that weird Thiem semi in Paris is the only 5 setter he's lost since his comeback in 2018, right?

Beat Rafa at Wimbledon, Fed at Wimbledon, Thiem in Australia, Fritz in Australia, Tsitsipas in Paris. Any others?

Lol, Djokovic barely has any losses in BO5, leave alone in a fifth set. He only retired against Wawrinka, got a DQ against Busta and somehow lost in straight sets to Nadal. And that's it... Even worse than I thought.

Since 2018 Novak has 6 losses in Bo5.

Nadal has 7...

Fed had a match point before losing his streak, so his stat is more relevant as Nadal's, as always.

I thought you don't count the first 2. Since he started winning slams again he pretty much never loses.
So then it's 4 and 7 lol. And that's assuming he wins this tournament and it's not 5 & 7.

Regardless, the point is that it's beyond pathetic for a fan of the 2nd most successful player in this time frame to be whining, including a current 28 match winning streak at RG. So you can stfu about "never losing." He's won 3 slams in that time period compared to Novak's 5. He's right there with Djokovic. Everyone besides Ultronians would kill be a Rafa fan during this time.

What is the other option? Being like @Yugram, who acts like Nadal is the big favorite for every tournament he enters, and then disappears after every loss? As I see he disappeared again, as expected. Even he knows that my predictions usually make much more sense. I'm basing them on logic. I'm saying Nadal is physically and mentally declined, and today we have another proof of it.

Yes. There's no other option besides being like you or Yugram. Literally no middle ground.

Looking at the posts, looks like there is no middle ground here. As I said many times (and this tournament once again proves that I was right here as well) lots of users here are underrating Djokovic's form and overrating Nadal's, time after time. Many users were actually calling him the favorite for the title.    Were they right? Of course not, I was. Just imagine, if I wasn't here then this forum would be full of troll predictions. Thanks to me there is some balance.

It can't be denied that I made lots of correct predictions, when most users disagreed with me.
