crisp strings

What are some crisp strings. I tried natural gut and for some reason it feels kind of mushy to me. Any ideas of what I could use. I though reaction was a decent string but looking for something with some more bite.

What gauge did you try the Reaction in? Thinner gauges will often provide more of what you are looking for.

Try the 17 first; use string savers if you are prone to early breakage problems. Slightly increasing the tension will often cause you to swing harder and spin the ball more, as a result.

Thanks for the advice I will try the 17 reaction. I have a reel of PSGD that I got free with a stringer that I just purchased. Does this string play crisp like reaction?

Hi,

Have used both and hate PSGD. The PSGD plays IMHO more crisp bit has no real "feel". The 17 in the PSGD is better than the 16.. again IMHO. The Reaction is a much better all around string. You should trade the reel of PSGD (plus cash) for a reel of the Reaction. Many folks love the PSGD.. I am not one of them. They are not really even the same class of string

I agree. I've used both 16 and 17 Reaction -- 17 is crisper, although I prefer the 16 in my PS 6.0 95 (just suits that racquet better).

I have BDE performance gut in my raquet. And to Steve I didn't realize that you could trade strings on the boards, thanks for the tip.

Yes.. just go to the Buy Sell area.. post your stuff and see if anyone is interested in a trade. Good luck!

If you didn't find natural gut crisp, it doesn't seem like crispness is what you're looking for but stiffness.

Agree. In fact, I found Legend to play quite stiff for a nat gut.

I agree try out the armoupro if you are fine with the price, other wise you may want mono poly or kevlar multi
